Motivational Event for University Candidates from Niğde Municipality
Niğde Municipality organized an event to contribute to the exam motivation of students who will take the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS). Niğde Municipality organized an event to contribute to the exam motivation of students who will take the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS). Author Sinem Aksoy Gökgöz participated in the program, where methods for coping with exam stress for university candidates were explained. Candidates who will take the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) on 8-9 June by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) showed great interest in the program organized by Niğde Municipality at the Study Center of the 100th Year National Library. Author Sinem Aksoy Gökgöz provided detailed information on stress management, coping techniques with stress, and motivational practices before the exam while explaining ways to cope with exam stress to the candidates taking the YKS. Pointing out that the YKS is one of the most important turning points in the lives of young people, Sinem Aksoy Gökgöz explained the precautions students need to take to cope with high anxiety levels. Gökgöz recommended candidates to engage in activities they love and to relieve stress by exercising to overcome negative thoughts about the exam, emphasizing the importance of engaging in motivational hobbies before the exam. Gökgöz also provided students with information on what to do before and on the day of the exam. Mayor Özdemir expressed that in the new generation libraries they have brought to the city, students have the opportunity to both study and participate in such events; he stated, ‘As Niğde Municipality, we will continue to mobilize all our resources to ensure that our students and young people, who are the guarantee of our future, are prepared for the future in the best possible way. I wish success to all students who will take the exam.’
