Giresunspor’s new Head Coach Metin Aydın stated, ‘I believe that by reflecting our own excitement to our players and overcoming this challenge together, we will succeed.’ Metin Aydın, the Head Coach of Giresunspor, which will compete in the TFF 2nd League in the new season, talked about the 2024-2025 season planning. Aydın, who explained that he has set the roadmap, said, ‘We plan to start training after the holiday. We will start preparing for the new season early as Giresunspor. We plan to gather after the holiday. In the initial stage of our work, we will complete the deficiencies of our young players and form the camp squad. Young players from our infrastructure will also participate in our first stage of training, and we will conduct a screening and observation among them. We will evaluate our promising talented youngsters in our squad.’
‘I do not want any player whose contract is still valid to leave’ Metin Aydın expressed that he does not favor any player leaving the team under these circumstances due to Giresunspor’s transfer ban. Aydın said, ‘Everyone knows the situation Giresunspor is in. We have a transfer ban, and our board is working to lift the transfer ban. Administrative matters are beyond our control. Our board is already making great efforts. We are planning what we can do under the current conditions. Personally, I do not want any of our players whose contracts are still valid to be sent away. I want those who have pending payments to be paid and stay in the team. It is important for our goalkeeper Erkan Anapa’s payment to be made and for him to remain in the team. Hopefully, the other players will also be kept in the squad.’
‘We need the support of the entire green-and-white community’ Aydın, who stated that he is very happy and excited to return to his homeland after years, said, ‘We are people of this city, we are soldiers of Giresunspor, we have never had and will never have the idea of shirking responsibilities. We know the troubles, knowing these troubles, we took on this task to revive Giresunspor. It is a difficult process, we cannot overcome this difficult process alone, we need everyone’s support. We need to be realistic, if we cannot lift the transfer ban, we will fight to stay in the league with our current squad. If we can lift the transfer ban and make transfers to our squad, then we can set different goals. Giresunspor is all of ours, we need the support of the entire green-and-white community. Our club is currently in a new structuring process, and we are also excited. I believe that by reflecting our own excitement to our players, we can overcome this challenge together.’
