The Abdullah Gün and His Students Exhibition ‘Anasır-ı Erbaa’ of Calligrapher Abdullah Gün and his students met art lovers in Fatih. The exhibition, themed around the four hidden elements in human nature – air, water, fire, and earth, featured works of 11 artists whose works were displayed, accompanied by an authorization ceremony for the artists. The exhibition ‘Anasır-ı Erbaa’ showcasing the works of calligrapher Abdullah Gün and his students was organized at the Istanbul Design Center. The opening of the exhibition, which included works themed around the four elements of air, water, fire, and earth, also featured an authorization ceremony for the 11 artists whose works were exhibited. The exhibition included works by calligrapher Abdullah Gün, Abdullah Rüştü Kişi, Abdurrahman Şişman, Aslıhan Varol, Esra Şişman, Fatma Altay Gürtan, Fatma Hüsna Koç, Funda Gülümseyen, İsmail Durak Ünlü, Nebahat Erkesim, Semra Arvas, Taner Kaygısız, Ümmühan Yıldırım, Zeynep Güler, Zeynep Kakı, Zeynep Mola, and the students who will receive authorization. The exhibition, featuring 65 different works by 16 calligraphers, will be open to visitors until June 14. Additionally, the calligraphy used by Calligrapher Abdullah Gün on the window lintel of Çamlıca Mosque was also exhibited. During the exhibition opening, Calligrapher Abdullah Gün, Fuat Başar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Savaş Çevik, and Prof. Dr. Mehmet Hüsrev Subaşı delivered speeches. Master Calligrapher Hasan Çelebi participated in the exhibition opening via online connection. Following the opening ceremony, Calligrapher Abdullah Gün presented authorizations to his 11 students. ‘We decided to talk about air, water, earth, and fire’ In his speech at the exhibition opening, Calligrapher Abdullah Gün stated, ‘When we were offered the exhibition, we consulted with our students to decide on the subject of our exhibition and what to talk about. We decided to talk about these four elements – air, water, earth, and fire. We spent a fast five months in preparation for the exhibition. It was a challenging process. Alhamdulillah, we produced 54 works and had 11 authorization works.’
