Samsun embraces the summer with its 13 blue-flagged beaches

Samsun, which hosts the most Blue Flag beaches in the Black Sea region, embraces summer with its long and clean beaches along with its 13 Blue Flag beaches. According to the data of the Turkish Foundation for Environmental Education (TURÇEV), the number of Blue Flag beaches in Turkey increased by 16 compared to the previous year, reaching 567. Turkey ranks 3rd in the world in terms of the number of Blue Flag beaches, following Spain (639 beaches) and Greece (625 beaches). Being at the forefront in the Black Sea region in terms of the number of Blue Flag beaches, Samsun with its 13 Blue Flag beaches is looking forward to welcoming local and foreign tourists on its shores this summer. Antalya has the highest number of Blue Flag beaches in Turkey with 233 beaches, followed by Muğla with 112 beaches, İzmir with 64 beaches, Balıkesir with 49 beaches, Aydın with 38 beaches, Samsun and Çanakkale with 13 beaches each. Samsun, along with Çanakkale, stands out as the 6th province with the highest number of Blue Flag beaches in Turkey, and furthermore, Samsun ranks 1st in the Black Sea region. Following Samsun in the number of Blue Flag beaches are Mersin (11 beaches), Kocaeli (9 beaches), Tekirdağ (7 beaches), Bartın (3 beaches), Bursa (3 beaches), Istanbul (4 beaches), Ordu (2 beaches), Kırklareli (2 beaches), Yalova (1 beach), Zonguldak (2 beaches), and Van (1 beach). In Samsun, 11 of the Blue Flag beaches are located in Atakum and 2 are in Terme district. Among the Blue Flag beaches in Samsun are Palmiye Beach, Golf Beach, OMTEL Beach, Körfez Beach, İnci Beach, İncesu Beach, Denizevleri Beach, Dantel Beach, Nazar Beach, Denizkızı Beach, and Gençlik Beach in Atakum district; while Miliç Çevre Eğitim Beach and Karavan Camp Beach are in Terme district. Additionally, there are 27 Blue Flag marinas, 9 Blue Flag yachts, and 18 Blue Flag tourism boats with Turkish flags in Turkish territorial waters.
