Battalgazi Municipality Municipal Police Department teams, in collaboration with the Trade Provincial Directorate teams, conducted inspections in chain supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, and bakeries in the district to check price tags, shelves, cash register-price compliance, price lists, and hygiene. The teams imposed 38 administrative fines on businesses that did not comply with the regulations. Battalgazi Municipality Municipal Police Department teams continue their inspections without interruption, taking on many duties and responsibilities with great dedication for the peace, security, and health of the district residents. The municipal teams have intensified their inspections to ensure that consumers shop more consciously by seeing the labels and price lists, within the scope of the price tag regulation made mandatory for businesses in the food and beverage sector by the Ministry of Trade as of January 1, 2024. Joint inspections carried out with the Trade Provincial Directorate teams involved checking price tags, shelves, cash register-price compliance, price lists, and hygiene in chain supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, and bakeries operating in the district in accordance with Article 54 of Law No. 6502. During the inspections conducted throughout the month of May, 85 businesses and 972 products were inspected, revealing 22 non-compliant situations. As a result of these findings, 38 administrative fines were imposed on the businesses. The teams provided information to businesses During the inspections, the teams warned the officials of businesses to comply with the requirements of Law No. 6502, stating, ‘Consumers need to see price tags before entering cafes and restaurants. Prices should be displayed, and most importantly, these prices should match the menu. Let’s pay attention to these. Prices should end with the TL sign, and it should be indicated when the prices were last updated. We ask our businesses to pay attention to these issues and comply with the law,’ providing information to business owners. Battalgazi Municipality Municipal Police Department teams thanked the tradesmen who comply with the rules in the Price Tag Regulation, stating that in addition to weekly and monthly routine inspections, daily inspections will continue without interruption, and businesses that do not comply with the regulation will face administrative fines after notification.
