The second edition of the event ‘Generations Meet with Flavors’, which offers young people the opportunity to get to know and try traditional Cypriot dishes, was organized by the students of the 60+ Age Refreshment University at the Girne University Campus. The two-day event, held in a festive atmosphere, introduced many Cypriot dishes and desserts to the students and participants. On the first day of the event, students served traditional Cypriot dishes that they prepared with their own hands. From ‘herses’ to ‘molehiya’, from Cypriot meatballs to ‘kleftiko’, many flavors were presented to the event participants. On the second day, Cypriot-specific desserts such as ‘paluze’ and ‘ekmek kadayif’ were featured at the stands. The event, which had a high turnout, witnessed enjoyable moments. The organized event not only introduced Cypriot flavors but also served as a communication bridge between different generations, ensuring the transfer of cultural heritage to future generations. Assistant Prof. Dr. Emete Toros stated, ‘We have made a significant contribution to our efforts to preserve our cultural heritage and pass it on to future generations.’ Assistant Prof. Dr. Emete Toros, the Program Coordinator of the 60+ Age Refreshment University, mentioned that the event they organized with the aim of introducing Cypriot traditional flavors and sharing experiences between generations received great interest.
