Denizli Metropolitan Municipality relieved the area by removing stands, vehicle parks, and similar structures that obstructed the passage of citizens in Bayramyeri Square. Mayor Çavuşoğlu stated that they will transform the city into an art city and bring culture and art together in the squares.

In the new era, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, with the slogan ‘human-centered city’, has started to work on rearranging the streets, boulevards, and squares where city life is intense to make them available only for the use of the citizens. As part of this effort, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality first started removing stands, vehicle parks, and other structures that hindered the comfortable movement of people in Bayramyeri Square. While Bayramyeri Square breathed with this work, citizens were surprised with a concert by the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Band on weekend evenings. The Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Band, which added color to Bayramyeri Square with beautiful and lively marches and songs, was watched with interest by the citizens.

“Cities are remembered by their squares”

Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu said that they will now turn Denizli into an art city with its streets, boulevards, and squares. Mayor Çavuşoğlu emphasized that they want the public to see a living city when they go to the squares. “We don’t want our exhibitions and concerts to be only within 4 walls. We want to turn the streets, avenues, and squares of Denizli into an art city. We have started working on this in Denizli. First, we transformed Bayramyeri Square into an area where our citizens can spend time comfortably,” he said. Drawing attention to the fact that cities are remembered by their squares, Mayor Çavuşoğlu said, “We want to make our city’s squares livable. Denizli’s squares belong to the people of Denizli.” Mayor Çavuşoğlu stated that they want Denizli to be a place where street artists can exhibit their art, people can listen to music with a smile on their faces, and watch artists perform on the streets, squares, and boulevards. “We have set out to make this beautiful city a happier and more peaceful place. We have started to come up with urgent and permanent solutions to problems. With our projects that will accelerate transportation, increase social welfare, support tourism and rural development, and make a name for itself with cultural activities, we will together build a Denizli with happier and smiling faces.”
