On the last day of the International Isparta Rose Festival, rose harvesting was carried out in the town of Güneykent, where both local and foreign guests participated in picking roses in the rose gardens. Folk dance groups from domestic and international locations performed their traditional dances at the rose factory.

The rose harvesting event held in the town of Güneykent on the final day of the International Isparta Rose Festival was enriched by the participation of guests from both domestic and international origins. Rose harvesting, being one of the most special moments of the festival, left a lasting memory as local and foreign guests experienced picking roses in the rose fields, witnessed the journey of the rose, and immortalized those moments by taking photographs. Additionally, visitors and citizens who visited the rose factory learned about the processing of roses and toured the rose museum. Folk dance groups from Gaziantep, Isparta, Northern Cyprus, and India showcased their traditional dances. The Deputy Mayors of Isparta Municipality and municipal council members accompanied the program in the town of Güneykent.

Deputy Mayor of Isparta, Uğur Büyükçulcu, stated that roses make significant contributions to the economy of Isparta and the country, emphasizing the importance of roses in terms of tourism. Büyükçulcu expressed that the teams hosted for the festival from domestic and international locations, as well as the citizens who participated in rose harvesting in the rose fields, were extremely happy. He mentioned, ‘Our rose harvesting is the most important activity of our festival. We see together how well we have done in terms of highlighting the significance of the festival, and how much value and importance the rose has brought to our city. I would like to thank our Mayor, Mr. Şükrü Başdeğirmen, for his efforts, as well as our governorship, provincial directorate of culture and tourism, and the Ministry of Tourism for the International Isparta Rose Festival that we have realized. Rose harvesting is the most crucial stage of the festival. It becomes a different experience and adventure for those coming from out of town and abroad. I thank our guests for their participation in our festival.’

Selda Yıldırım, who came from Mersin for the International Isparta Rose Festival, mentioned that they visited Isparta for the first time and expressed their satisfaction by saying, ‘The festival is very beautiful, we are very pleased.’

Rumeysa Özen, who emphasized the immense effort put into the Rose Festival, said, ‘They say not everything grows in every soil, it has been bestowed upon here. It’s a very beautiful beauty. The frequency of the rose is very high. The Prophet Muhammad is also associated with the rose. I picked some roses to make a little rose sherbet. The scent is simply irresistible. We are very grateful to the Isparta Municipality.’

Bahşende Diren, who came from the Tarsus district of Mersin, mentioned that the rose gardens were very beautiful, stating that the scent of the rose brings freshness.

Nurcan Bal also thanked the Isparta Municipality for organizing the festival, saying, ‘This place smells of roses, and we will take this scent back to Tarsus.’
