The Turkish-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, based in Berlin, gathered with important businessmen and industrialists in Izmir. Uğur Tekin, the CEO of Asset Global Logistics Integration, who made evaluations about the meeting they attended, stated that ‘Germany, which is by far the leader in our foreign trade with Europe, is the first country where Asset Global Logistic Integration made its first overseas warehouse investment.’ The meeting hosted by Arif Kaya, a board member of the Turkish-German Chamber of Commerce and a General Manager of a globally known brand, took place in Izmir and featured important assessments on production in Turkey and trade with Germany, as well as solution proposals for current issues. Okan Özoğlu, the Secretary General of the Turkish-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with the deputy secretary general Sevgi Kalaycı, talked about the chamber and its activities. Ege Exporters’ Association President Jak Eskinazi, Esbaş CEO Dr. Faruk Güler, and General Manager Yusuf Kılınç also participated and contributed to the meeting. Recent investments in important warehouses, customs, and operations in Cologne, Germany, in the fast courier transportation sector under the brand Asset Worldwide Express were realized by Uğur Tekin and Volkan Soykan, who attended the meeting. Speaking at the meeting, Uğur Tekin mentioned, ‘Germany, which has deep-rooted connections with us beyond the economy and hosts nearly 4 million expatriate citizens, is by far the leader in our foreign trade with Europe. Asset Global Logistic Integration made its first overseas warehouse investment in this country. The activities of the Turkish-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which significantly contribute to expanding these deep-rooted relationships, are extremely critical for our country’s exports and our increasing e-export goals. Likewise, it is crucial to strengthen the belief in our economy and meet the needs of valuable global brands that make important contributions to our country’s employment and exports, as well as German industrialists who are considering investing in our country.’ Arif Kaya, the General Manager of one of the largest industrial companies in Izmir in terms of employment, discussed the current challenges in Turkish-German relations and the opportunities for the upcoming period, and delivered the opening and closing speeches of the meeting.
