5 awards from the Bursa Journalists Association to the IHA

The awards of the press members who were ranked in the BGC Success Awards Competition, traditionally organized by the Bursa Journalists Association, were presented at the BGC Nilüfer Stage ceremony. In the award ceremony, which was held with a wide participation, 12 success and 8 honorable mention awards were given. The team of Ihlas News Agency Bursa Regional Directorate was also awarded 5 prizes. President of Bursa Journalists Association and General President of Turkey Journalists Confederation, Nuri Kolaylı, stated that the jury meticulously examined 114 works submitted and carried out a careful evaluation. Abdullah Bozkurt, who works at Ihlas News Agency Bursa Regional Directorate, was awarded two successes in the television current affairs and sports categories, Ahmet Burak Öztürk was awarded success in television news category, Samet Doğru was awarded success in sports photography category, and an honorable mention in the general photography category. In his speech at the award ceremony, BGC President Nuri Kolaylı addressed the problems of the press and proposed solutions, stating that ‘The most important problem we face in our sector is the absence of a Press Profession Law’. Nuri Kolaylı also mentioned the issues of the industry and shared his thoughts on various topics. Nuri Kolaylı also touched upon the ‘Public Savings and Efficiency Package’ that puts the sector in a difficult situation, emphasizing the challenges faced by the local press due to the restrictions implemented within this package. Various figures including politicians and representatives from different institutions delivered speeches at the ceremony and presented plaques and awards to successful journalists of 2023. After the awards ceremony, a cocktail was held in the foyer area of BGC Nilüfer Stage where the Bursa protocol and media members came together.
