The rising role of women in technology

Coşkunöz Education Foundation organized a conference on ‘The Rising Role of Women in Technology’ within the scope of the ‘Creation of Future’ project. Implemented in collaboration with Coşkunöz Education Foundation, Bursa Technical University, BUİKAD, and BUSİAD, the project aims to address the issues of labor and social security.

Within the scope of the ‘Xreation of Future’ project, the Coskunoz Education Foundation organized a conference titled ‘The Rising Role of Women in Technology’. The conference, which was held with intense participation from the business world in Bursa, addressed the important role women play in the technology sector and the significance of inclusivity. Bige Tinmazsoy, the Director of Coskunoz Education Foundation, who leads the Xreation of Future project, stated that rapidly evolving technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and augmented reality are changing and facilitating our lives in every aspect. It was emphasized that companies in Bursa should make more use of and offer artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and virtual reality technologies to further strengthen their export championship and increase their competitive advantage. Under the Xreation of Future project, 140 individuals will receive a total of 1160 hours of training in the fields of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). The training curriculum for augmented reality has been developed and will be shared with the Council of Higher Education (YOK) and the Ministry of National Education. The aim of the Technology Women Conference was to discuss the possibilities in these areas with valuable experts.
As part of the Xreation Of Future project, Prof. Dr. Sehnaz Baltaci, a faculty member of the Computer and Instructional Technologies Department at the Faculty of Education at Uludag University in Bursa, who received Educator Training, stated that their master’s and doctoral students have started working on virtual reality and augmented reality topics. She mentioned the importance of keeping up with the era and developing themselves in these areas. The Xreation of Future Project by the Coskunoz Education Foundation holds great importance in this regard. Through the training received within the project, they aim to support their students in master’s and doctoral projects with new theoretical knowledge in software on augmented reality and virtual reality by opening new courses. They expressed pride in being involved in a multidimensional project that includes industrial organizations as well as high school and university students.
The conference ‘The Rising Role of Women in Technology’ continued with sessions on ‘Women and Inclusivity in the IT Sector’ by Deniz Sisa, Director of Law and Compliance at KocSistem; ‘Breaking the Glass Ceiling’ by Ozgur Bidar Tombuloglu, Founder and Managing Director of Dsource under the moderation of Selma Cetinkaya Turk; and ‘Women in Employment and the Future of Women in Turkey’ by Hulya Gedik, Chairperson of the Board of Directors at Gedik Holding. Speakers shared their knowledge and experiences on the role of women in the IT sector, gender barriers in the business world, and the future of women in the workforce in Turkey with the audience.
