President Emre Hasgör responds harshly to the president of Manisa FK

Manisa BBSK President Emre Hasgör responded to the statement of Manisa FK President Mevlüt Aktan, who threatened to change the club’s name to Rize Fındıklıspor and withdraw from Manisa, by saying, ‘They are trying to insult Manisaspor and the people of Manisa, but as long as I am here, I will not allow any insults.’ After serving as the president of Manisaspor, Emre Hasgör, who was elected as the President of Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club approximately 1.5 years ago, met with the press. Hasgör stated that Manisa BBSK is an amateur club that serves the public with the possibilities of the municipality budget, and he answered the questions of the press members. President Hasgör made important statements especially regarding the facility crisis experienced with Manisa FK, the youth players of Manisa FK, and Manisa BBSK Basketball team that earned the right to play in the Champions League this year.
Speaking on the statement of Manisa FK President Mevlüt Aktan, who said ‘I will change the club’s name to Rize Fındıklıspor and withdraw from Manisa’ due to the facility crisis, President Emre Hasgör said, ‘As an amateur sports club president, I come from the world of football, so these questions are very normal. I am a club president serving children and young people, but at the same time, I am also a very good president of Manisaspor. These are very funny statements. In fact, these are the results of a 15-year process. They can establish Fındıklıspor, Polatlıspor. The situation the football team of the club founded by the late Adil Aygül in 1994 has reached saddens us all. I saw another sentence there, I don’t pay attention to it, but it is related to Manisaspor. Manisaspor is very valuable to me. Until now, I was trying to continue with sporting courtesy, but it is not a situation where sporting courtesy will be maintained. In fact, the beginning of these talks is someone I am ashamed to even say was a previous mayor, who I think is responsible for the situation of Manisaspor. There are those who have been designing these things for 15 years. They have created a different order for 15 years and have deviated from the sporting order. We all see the state he brought sports in Manisa. They have settled in the facility with the money of the people of Manisa, with the taxes paid by the people of Manisa, even the table they sit at belongs to the municipality, and from there they are trying to insult Manisaspor and the people of Manisa, but as long as I am here, I will not allow any insults. I say it repeatedly, we are in these situations because of the previous mayor. This is the situation our city has come to. We are here to solve these. Actually, I get very angry when it comes to Manisaspor. A lot of efforts have been made, and if you go to the facilities today, you will be saddened and cry. The facility of the football team where even meals are not provided from the soup kitchen, and on the other hand, a system where a luxurious facility is experienced. I don’t care about the person who says those words. I address the people of Manisa. They have only one thing left, they want to use the young talents of Manisa. Their problems are their own problems. If we give them the salary they want, they will quit today. We have no relationship with Manisa FK, even if they want to give us that club, we have no business with it. They will bear the consequences. They will bear the consequences of oppressing the people of Manisa, harming the institutions of Manisa, harming the people of Manisa. They see themselves elsewhere, but I am not afraid of anything. I am from Manisa and I will follow this matter to the end. The part about this issue is a point that saddens all of us. ‘Youth players are entrusted to us’
Speaking about the children in the youth teams of Manisa FK, Hasgör said that the services and meals would continue until the schools close, but they will not let the children, who are entrusted to the people of Manisa, be victimized.
‘We reduced the budget of basketball by a quarter’
Emre Hasgör, who also spoke about the Manisa BBSK Men’s Basketball Team, which secured playing in European cups this season with its performance in the Basketball Super League, said, ‘The basketball club is an organization entirely made with public resources. We have reduced this budget. We have reduced it to a quarter. We will see the results. It is an entertainment, not something I am very involved in, but we have an organization that we need to manage. It is a family organization that the public loves very much. Although we are focused on football, we like it. The budget is entirely made with municipal resources, but it will not be like that anymore. There is a young board of directors there. We will do it with our own financial resources. Would we participate in the Champions League? Yes, we would, but we have not yet created that budget. We have formed part of it. Our friends sell season tickets, advertisements. Let it be a nice thing. Let’s take from there and invest in basketball. We will do basketball as well, but we will do it with our own budget. $7.5 million was spent on this club in two years, we have no players, no youth system, we only have basketballs. My colleagues work very hard and I work very hard too. When you take on a duty, you have to do it very well. Frankly, I had removed myself from the presidency of a club because I was very upset before reaching this point. I had said I would not enter again. But life does not let us get out of these things. We will fight with a small budget. We will represent our city this way. Maybe we will relegate, maybe we will play playoffs, but we will do this budget with our own efforts, by selling season tickets to the people of Manisa, by getting advertisements from our friends. It will be more enjoyable. It will be a place where not a group of elite people but where the public enters together. I am also getting to know basketball gradually. Sometimes we make football comments and get into funny situations, but we have managers who are very knowledgeable about basketball. I think I am a good sports executive.
