Şehitkamil Municipality conducted a comprehensive inspection targeting businesses producing slippers and shoes on Nizip Avenue. The inspections, aimed at preventing environmental pollution and raising awareness about waste management in businesses, were carried out by the Municipal Police Department and the Sanitation Department, accompanied by Deputy Mayor of Şehitkamil Municipality, Cihan Ekici. The main goal of the inspections on Nizip Avenue was to prevent pollution caused by businesses in the area randomly disposing of their waste into the environment. The improper use of boat-type containers placed in the area by the municipality and the scattering of waste into the environment were causing a serious environmental problem. During the inspections, Deputy Mayor Cihan Ekici met with business owners and employees to listen to their suggestions, complaints, and requests. Ekici took into consideration the solutions proposed by the tradesmen and made evaluations based on these suggestions. While informing the tradesmen to be more sensitive about waste management, the municipality detailed the steps taken in this regard. Inspections will increase, collection points will multiply. Deputy Mayor Ekici stated that the inspections will be intensified and the number of waste collection points will be increased, saying, ‘As Şehitkamil Municipality, we are determined about environmental cleanliness and waste management. We want our businesses to be part of this determination. By intensifying our inspections, we will overcome this issue.’ Ekici also warned all businesses in the area to manage waste properly and emphasized the importance of sensitivity in this regard. Mentioning that similar activities will continue in the future, Cihan Ekici expressed that they will continue their efforts incessantly to further promote environmental awareness.
