Actor Ahmet Uğurlu was laid to rest on his final journey

72-year-old actor Ahmet Uğurlu, who passed away, was buried in Anadoluhisarı Cemetery after the funeral prayer held at Üsküdar Şakirin Mosque following the Friday prayer.

In Istanbul, a funeral ceremony was organized for the 72-year-old actor Ahmet Uğurlu who passed away recently. Ahmet Uğurlu’s brother Mustafa Uğurlu, his son Orhan Uğurlu, and his ex-wife Necef Uğurlu accepted condolences at the funeral. The funeral was attended by director Derviş Zaim, actress Yasemin Yalçın, General Director of State Theaters Tamer Karadağlı, actors Melih Çardak, Sumru Yavrucuk, Halil Ergün along with their families and relatives.

His ex-wife Necef Uğurlu said, “Our 40-year marriage was a great passion, a very intense one. The conservatory and colleagues were his top priority. He was very careful not to hurt anyone. The whole world embraced him but he never gave up on Turkey.” Tamer Karadağlı, the General Director of State Theaters, said, “We are very saddened, Ahmet Uğurlu was one of the important actors of Turkish theater and cinema. He was a very special person. Another master has passed away, we are very sad.”

After the funeral prayer held following the Friday prayer, forgiveness was sought. Uğurlu’s funeral was buried in Anadoluhisarı Cemetery with prayers.

The veteran actor, who played roles in many theater plays, movies, and TV series, and was selected as the best actor in 1996 and 1997 for his role in the movie “Tabutta Röveşata”, appeared in productions such as “Eşref Saati”, “Behzat Ç.”, “Yol Ayrımı”.
