A pitbull breed dog, who fell ill and weak from hunger and whose feeding was restricted, managed to survive in the hands of Kuşadası Municipality

Kuşadası Municipality took care of a pitbull breed dog that had become weak due to hunger and neglect in the district of Kuşadası in Aydın, where feeding of this breed is prohibited. The dog, which was taken to Kuşadası Pet Animal Care and Rehabilitation Center for treatment, regained its health and normal weight again thanks to the care and love shown by its caregiver. Aydın Nature Conservation and National Parks Directorate officials received a report about a pitbull breed dog not being well cared for in Söke about 2 months ago. The teams, along with veterinarians, went to the address where the dog’s owner lived. Upon inspection, it was determined that the dog was sick and exhausted due to insufficient nutrition. A report was drawn up against the owner of the dog for ‘violation of animal rights’. The dog, who was skin and bones due to starvation, was taken into custody and then brought to Kuşadası Municipality Pet Animal Rehabilitation Center. Veterinarians working at Kuşadası Municipality Pet Animal Rehabilitation Center immediately provided the necessary initial intervention to the dog. X-rays were taken and blood tests were performed on the dog, followed by intravenous fluids and food supplements. Initially weighing about 11 kilograms when first brought to the center, the dog was fed with high-calorie foods. After a 2-month period, the dog regained its health and reached 20 kilograms. Barış Erdal, who took care of the dog at Kuşadası Municipality Pet Animal Rehabilitation Center, stated, ‘When our pitbull breed dog, classified as a banned breed, was first brought in, unfortunately, it was very weak, hungry, and thirsty. After an intense 2-month care and treatment process, it has now regained its health. We treat all the animals in our center with the healing power of love without discrimination. We are very happy as employees to heal our animal friends.’ Kuşadası Pet Animal Rehabilitation Center is the most modern and equipped center in the region. In this rehabilitation center, where every detail is considered for its furry guests, music is played for sick and injured stray animals to benefit from the healing and calming power of notes. With environmental and landscaping arrangements made to ensure a more enjoyable environment for city residents and children to spend time with rehabilitated cats and dogs, the center has a colorful appearance. The center also has X-ray, hemogram, blood count devices, and fully equipped intensive care units for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
