Tepebaşı Municipality continues to organize Aikido training for women. Women participating in the training not only learn self-defense while exercising but also gain self-confidence.
Tepebaşı Municipality continues to carry out important work for women. Aikido training sessions, which take place twice a week at Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Sports Facilities Water Sports Center and are open to individuals of all ages, are ongoing. The training, attended by 15 women, is conducted under the supervision of expert trainers. The benefits of Aikido, known as a self-defense martial art, such as positively affecting mental health, providing energy, preventing stress, and enabling correct breathing techniques, are highlighted. Participants express their satisfaction and gratitude to Tepebaşı Municipality.

“Tepebaşı Municipality supports women”
Nuray Durmaz Erol, a 42-year-old participant in the training, stated that she registered for the Aikido course after seeing it on Tepebaşı Municipality’s social media accounts, saying, “We have been receiving training for 3-4 months. With Aikido, we try to redirect the energy within us without using speed to neutralize the opponent. It taught me calmness, agility, and how to be faster without rushing, as well as how to move slowly while being fast. Tepebaşı Municipality provides great support to women in this regard. It is very difficult to find such courses in Eskisehir. In this regard, Tepebaşı Municipality leads the way and supports women. I recommend women to participate in such courses. Because we do not know what we may encounter outside, learning to defend ourselves is the best sport they can learn. Psychologically, you feel very good about yourself. Your self-confidence increases, and you gain confidence in yourself. I also thank our Tepebaşı Municipality Mayor Ahmet Ataç. Thanks to him, many women learn to defend themselves, protect themselves, and gain self-confidence.”

“I realized my childhood dream”
Nesihe Küsen, a 33-year-old healthcare worker, expressed that she realized her dream, saying, “I had dreamed a lot about Aikido in my childhood and wanted to attend courses. At that time, such courses were not common. I thank Tepebaşı Municipality Mayor Ahmet Ataç and the staff. I realized my childhood dream. I come here with my daughter. Aikido taught me so much that being involved in Japanese martial arts, seeing traces of their culture, feeling how they behave contributed significantly. Now I found myself in a sports branch where I believe in myself, capable of defending myself while walking on the street. I recommend Aikido to everyone.”

“It gives me self-confidence”
Ayça Duzçu, 13 years old, said, “I come here with my friend. I am very happy to come. I was previously interested in martial arts. Aikido has been very nice for me. I thank Tepebaşı Municipality. Since I started coming, I feel more secure and peaceful. I feel that I can defend myself if something happens on the street. I am glad I came. It gives me self-confidence.”

“I am very happy to come”
Ecrin Küsen, 13 years old, mentioned that she joined the course with her mother and friend, saying, “Aikido is a very nice sport. I get to learn Japanese culture. I started the course thanks to the poster I saw on Tepebaşı Municipality’s social media account. I am learning to protect myself. I am also curious about Japanese culture. I am very happy to come.”
