Mayor Buyukkilic: ‘We will adorn Kayseri with the works of the unique genius Architect Sinan’

Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Buyukkilic announced that they will commemorate the unique genius Mimar Sinan, who left his mark on architectural history with his unique works, in his hometown with an extraordinary event. Mayor Buyukkilic stated, ‘We will decorate the walls of village schools in Kayseri with the works of the unique genius Mimar Sinan, together with artists and children.’ The Metropolitan Municipality is preparing to commemorate Mimar Sinan, who was born in Ağırnas Village in Kayseri and left countless traces in many provinces of the Ottoman Empire with his timeless works, with an extraordinary event. Mayor of Metropolitan Municipality Dr. Memduh Buyukkilic stated in his announcement regarding the subject that they will commemorate Mimar Sinan in their hometown of Kayseri with the event they will organize, saying, ‘We will once again commemorate our pride, Mimar Sinan, who serves with his modern structures that still stand today, challenge modern buildings, and become a global figure.’ Stating that they will decorate the walls of village schools in Kayseri with the works of the unique genius Mimar Sinan, Mayor Buyukkilic said, ‘Mimar Sinan, who did not spare his effort, knowledge, and soul in his works, has built immortal works and gifted us these works to this paradise homeland. We will decorate the walls of village schools in Sinan’s hometown of Kayseri with the works of the unique genius Mimar Sinan together with artists and children.’ Emphasizing that the events will continue throughout the year under the title ‘Sinan Time in Kayseri,’ Buyukkilic said, ‘As part of the Mimar Sinan Commemoration Events that will continue throughout the year, a painting activity will be organized with the participation of the leading artists of our country under the title of ‘Sinan Time in Kayseri.’ Mayor Buyukkilic continued his words by expressing that they strive to commemorate the architectural genius Mimar Sinan, who has become famous worldwide, and to explain his art, starting from Kayseri, the cradle of civilizations. ‘As part of the ‘Sinan Time in Kayseri’ events initiated in collaboration with Kayseri Governorship and Kayseri Provincial Directorate of National Education under the leadership of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, Ressam Mahir Guven, an instructor at Mimar Sinan University, and Artist Gunseli Kato will decorate the walls of village schools with Sinan’s immortal works together with students.’ Mayor Dr. Memduh Buyukkilic announced that the first wall painting event will take place on Monday, June 3rd at 11:30 at Gurpinar Primary School in Melikgazi district.
