CK Enerji provides ‘green’ support to the city’s energy from Akdeniz Elektrik

CK Energy Mediterranean Electricity, which supports its customers who want to supply environmentally friendly electricity with the transition to green energy, has facilitated many organizations in its service area to obtain YEK-G certificates. General Manager Fahrettin Tunç stated, ‘We are working to promote electricity consumption from renewable energy sources in our Mediterranean region and contribute to our customers’ transition to green energy.’ CK Energy Mediterranean Electricity, which facilitates organizations to obtain Renewable Energy Resource Guarantee System (YEK-G) certificates proving that the electricity consumed by its customers is produced from ‘green energy’ sources, contributes to the construction of a sustainable future.
We aim to popularize the use of renewable energy. CK Energy Mediterranean Electricity General Manager Fahrettin Tunç pointed out the importance of renewable energy sources in the fight against climate change and in achieving Turkey’s 2053 net zero emissions target, stating, ‘The use of green energy sources not only provides benefits from economic and social aspects but also reduces carbon emissions and minimizes the environmental impacts of electricity consumption. Supporting renewable energy sources today and increasing investments in this field are vital necessities for both our country and the world. We facilitate our customers in obtaining YEK-G certificates to ensure that their electricity consumption comes from environmentally friendly green energy sources and provide them with all kinds of support during this process.’
The number of those obtaining YEK-G certificates is increasing. CK Energy Mediterranean Electricity, which supports Akdeniz University Rectorate and Antalya Free Zone Founder and Operator Inc.’s certification for sourcing electricity consumption from renewable sources, documented that the annual consumptions of Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO) of 576 MWh, Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry of 92 MWh, and Antalya Directorate of Culture and Tourism of 117 MWh are all sourced from green energy.
What is YEK-G certificate? YEK-G, the Renewable Energy Resource Guarantee System, is a system that certifies that electricity is generated from renewable energy sources. The YEK-G certificate, which supports electricity production based on renewable energy sources to minimize the environmental impacts of electricity generation, guarantees that renewable energy is fed into the system as much as the amount of electricity used. Produced using blockchain technology created by EPİAŞ to monitor all processes from producer to consumer, the system generates one certificate for every 1 MWh of electricity generated from renewable energy facilities (solar, wind, hydroelectric, geothermal, and biomass).
