The ‘Face to Face 100 Game Festival’ was organized in Muğla

On the occasion of the Traditional Children’s Games Festival Week and May 28th World Play Day, the ‘Face-to-Face 100 Games Festival’ was organized under the coordination of Muğla Provincial Directorate of National Education. The event was carried out by the Ministry of National Education, General Directorate of Basic Education as part of the ‘Face-to-Face 100 Games’ project, which aims to introduce traditional children’s games to the younger generation and promote socialization through play.

On the occasion of the Traditional Children’s Games Festival Week and May 28th World Play Day, the ‘Face-to-Face 100 Games Festival’ was organized under the coordination of Muğla Provincial Directorate of National Education. The event was held as part of the ‘Face-to-Face 100 Children’s Games’ project carried out by the Ministry of National Education General Directorate of Basic Education. Governor Dr. İdris Akbıyık was welcomed to the festival by students with traditional toys such as spinning tops and hoops. The event, which started with the folk dance show of Emirbeyazıt Primary School folk dance team, included visits to game areas. Governor Akbıyık and other protocol members accompanied the students in spinning tops, spinning hoops, and playing games like ‘fasulye torbası’. Among the workshops and activities held in the garden of Şahidi Middle School were making whirligigs, rope games, making hoops and wire cars, paper folding, ceramic painting, painting, mind games, music, marbling art, and reading corner. Protocol members visited these workshops and participated in activities with the students. The festival ended with a ball show by Şahidi Middle School students. Students had a fun time playing many traditional children’s games such as jump rope, spinning tops, spinning hoops, ‘yağ satarım bal satarım’, ‘yakan top’, ‘mendil kapmaca’, ‘seksek’, ‘kurt baba’, ‘bülbül kafeste’, ‘kutu kutu pense’, ‘köşe kapmaca’, ‘çömel kurtul’, ‘yerdem yüksek’, ‘çuval yarışı’, ‘halat çekmece’, ‘fasulye torbası’, ‘eski minder’, ‘balık ağı’, ‘tombik’. They also enjoyed moments of Karagöz and Hacivat shows, face painting, and clown activities. The ‘Face-to-Face 100 Games Festival’ not only provided students with a fun and educational day but also revived forgotten traditional children’s games. The festival took place in the gardens of Menteşe Emirbeyazıt Primary School and Şahidi Middle School. The event was attended by Muğla Governor Dr. İdris Akbıyık, Menteşe District Governor Mehmet Eriş, Provincial Director of National Education Emre Çay, education managers from the province and district, and 12 schools from various levels in Menteşe.
