Selçuk projects on the agenda of the metropolitan municipality

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay, who dedicated the weekend to work in Selcuk, inspected the ongoing projects in the city. After receiving information from Selcuk Mayor Filiz Ceritoglu Sengel, Mayor Cemil Tugay announced that they will soon put the New District Bus Terminal into service and prioritize the projects with prepared plans. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay, Selcuk Mayor Filiz Ceritoglu Sengel, CHP District President Ipek Onbasioglu, Deputy Mayors, council members, and department heads first examined the New Garage Area together. Mayor Cemil Tugay inspected the Pamucak Area; then met with Pamucak Tourism Investors Association (PATUYAB). Mayor Tugay also examined the Culture and Youth Center area planned to be built in the Old Market Building area and the Selcuk Garage. He received detailed information from Mayor Filiz Ceritoglu Sengel about the projects planned to be carried out in Selcuk with the support of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality.
“We will take care of Pamucak as our apple of the eye” Mayor Tugay, along with others, first visited the New District Bus Terminal and then inspected the Pamucak Area. Mayor Tugay, along with Mayor Filiz Ceritoglu Sengel and others, met with stakeholders in the tourism sector in Pamucak. Mayor Tugay emphasized the importance of Pamucak as a significant coastline, stating, “We visited Pamucak with our Selcuk Mayor Filiz Ceritoglu Sengel. This is a region we care about. With its approximately 11 km long beach and sandy shore, it is one of Izmir’s most important tourism regions. Right behind it, we have the living area of the Little Meander and our neighboring Ancient City of Ephesus. Tourism investors who operate in Pamucak had some requests and demands for the improvement of the region. We discussed these and evaluated how we would work together. With the works we will do as soon as possible, we will swiftly address the issues that need intervention in this region within 1 to 1.5 years. We will take care of this region as our apple of the eye.”
The district terminal will be put into service as soon as possible Mayor Tugay emphasized the importance of visiting the project areas with Mayor Filiz Ceritoglu Sengel to obtain on-site information, stating, “When we look at the importance order, all the projects seem equally important. You cannot put any of them in second place. We need to look at which project can be implemented and tendered faster. Firstly, we will put the terminal into operation as soon as possible. There is also a sports hall project. We talked about an underground parking lot and a square arrangement to be made on top of the current old bus terminal area, and a cultural facility to be built in a suitable location. All of these are doable. At the same time, although we have not discussed it yet, I think it would be nice to have a landscaping work on the road to Pamucak and Kusadasi. Because the road I mentioned is one of Izmir’s most valuable roads. We will strive for everything to be more organized, enjoyable, beautiful, and clean. There are also planned infrastructure works that we will carry out.”
“We have been acting together since day one” Selcuk Mayor Filiz Ceritoglu Sengel stated that they have been working together with Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay from day one, saying, “This is my second term as mayor.
