Ilkadim Municipality Sports Club is making a name for itself with successful results in wrestling and judo. Mayor of Ilkadim, Ihsan Kurnaz, stated that they will elevate sports to higher levels in the district. Ilkadim Municipality Wrestling Team, which participated in the Samsun U13 Freestyle Wrestling Provincial Championship held at Canik Yasar Dogu Wrestling Arena, became the team champion. Individually, team athletes Abdullah Üren in 68 kilograms, Azmi Talha Saygıcı in 57 kilograms, Muhammet Eymen Geçkin in 41 kilograms, and Murat Mutlu Aymaz in 30 kilograms won gold medals. Numan Efe Yamanoğlu won silver in 34 kilograms, Furkan Emir Sekmenoğlu in 38 kilograms, Toygar Poyraz Singil in 52 kilograms, and Ömer Saygılı in 68 kilograms secured bronze medals. The sports team that participated in the Sports Toto Turkey Veterans Judo Championship in Ankara continued to achieve successful results. In a fierce competition, Ilkadim Municipality Athlete Mustafa Balcı won the gold medal in M9 90 kilograms category. Ilkadim Mayor Ihsan Kurnaz expressed their significant emphasis on sports and athletes in the district, stating, ‘We will continue our investments without slowing down, considering both our youth and citizens of all ages. Our goal is to protect and nurture the youth, keep them away from possible bad habits of technology, and build a healthy generation. We aim to spread sports to all segments of society and elevate Ilkadim to different levels through sports activities. I thank our athletes who made us proud by achieving success in competitions.
