Marmaris’ garbage collectors collected 150 bags of waste
The Avcı couple, known for their sensitivity to the environment in the district of Marmaris in Muğla, have once again carried out a different action. İmdat and Yıldız Avcı, who cleaned the coves for a month, delivered 150 bags of waste to the Marmaris Municipality cleaning workers. Marmaris, a popular tourist destination with its natural beauty, has been a focus of environmental protection efforts in recent years.

Avcı couple, known for their sensitivity to the environment in the district of Marmaris in Muğla, took another different action. İmdat and Yıldız Avcı, who cleaned the bays for a month, delivered 150 bags of waste to the Marmaris Municipality cleaning workers.
Yıldız and İmdat Avcı couple, who volunteer for cleaning in the bays of Marmaris, traveled around Marmaris bays with their boat named Türkü Ozan in the last month. The Avcı couple, who make bay cleaning routine every year, brought 150 bags of waste the size of a full-grown man from the bays to the coast in Marmaris. 70-year-old İmdat Avcı and his 51-year-old wife Yıldız Avcı were welcomed by Marmaris Municipality Cleaning Affairs Director Zafer Yılmaz and the citizens with flowers and drums.
The wastes unloaded by the Marmaris Municipality cleaning teams were taken to the solid waste facility by the municipal garbage truck. Zafer Yılmaz, the Director of Cleaning Affairs at Marmaris Municipality, said, “We thank them very much for their dedicated efforts in protecting nature and the environment.” Mentioning that they want to receive the reward of the cleaning they do without any financial expectations with love and support from people, Yıldız Avcı stated that they cleaned all bays this year as every year and said that all citizens should be sensitive to nature. Yıldız Avcı shared her thoughts by saying, “We all need to take care of the environment. A clean environment means a clean society. It means education, it means health. Nature is the greatest gift given to us,” expressing her views.
Imdat Avcı, who has been living in Marmaris for 40 years and has been cleaning the environment for 27 years, stated that they will continue cleaning both from the land and the sea.
