Graduates of Bursa Erkek Lisesi, founded in 1883 in Bursa, gathered this year on the 141st Traditional Pilaf Day. The alumni who visited the school reminisced about their student years and remembered the old days. Bursa Erkek Lisesi, which has raised important politicians and artists in Turkey, brought together former graduates on the occasion of the 141st Traditional Pilaf Day. The alumni, who vividly remembered their memories, took photos together and enjoyed each other’s company. The event held in the schoolyard was attended by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey, Nilüfer Municipality Mayor Şadi Özdemir, and the management of Bursa Erkek Lisesi Alumni Association (BELDER). The opening of the program started with the entrance of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Band team and Bursa Erkek Lisesi students to the school accompanied by the Youth Anthem. After a moment of silence and the National Anthem, the students sang the Bursa Erkek Lisesi Anthem accompanied by the band team. Continuing the program, Bursa Erkek Lisesi Principal Şahin Boztepe stated, ‘Our school, which will graduate its 141st class this year, has been offering all its facilities to our students with 32 classrooms, a 101-bed dormitory, a sports hall, library, and science laboratory through being an Anatolian High School in 2005, and a special program and project school in 2018. With 66 teachers and 780 students, Bursa Erkek Lisesi continues its education and training. Bursa Erkek Lisesi aims to raise our youth above the level of contemporary civilization, preserving its own memory and aiming to live academically and socially successful individuals targeting international success.’ Following the protocol speeches, honorary certificates were given to those who graduated from the high school 40, 50, and 60 years ago, and the guests were served with pilaf.
