Enes Çelik has become the new president of Bursaspor

After the Ordinary General Assembly held in Bursaspor, Enes Çelik, who ran for election as the sole candidate, became the 33rd president of the green and white club. Enes Çelik stated that they will work with all their might to bring Bursaspor back to the Super League, which it deserves, with great unity.

The eagerly awaited Ordinary General Assembly Meeting at Bursaspor took place. Enes Çelik, the only candidate in the congress, became the new president of the green and white club. At the Ordinary General Assembly held at Yüzüncü Yıl Atatürk Stadium through open voting, everyone raised their hands for Enes Çelik to become the president. Çelik, who experienced great happiness with his board, became the 33rd president of Bursaspor Club. Out of 4,074 congress members, 355 members participated in the General Assembly, who had the right to vote out of 2,751.

Enes Çelik: ‘We are initiating the Bursaspor solidarity’

President Enes Çelik said, ‘First of all, I wish our Electoral Ordinary General Assembly to be auspicious for our Bursaspor. I also hope that it will be the beginning of a successful period. Bursaspor has experienced ups and downs throughout its history of over 60 years. While thanking the executives, athletes, especially you, the fans, who have worked for the success of Bursaspor in all these periods, I also remember with mercy those who have passed away. Dear members; as we all know, we are in the most difficult period of our history in terms of financial and sports aspects. Of course, we will investigate and learn from past mistakes, but the most important issue is ‘how will we build the future?’ First of all, I would like to share our current situation with you. Our total debt exceeds 1.5 billion TL. Every ‘Bursaspor fan’ has to play on amateur wire-fenced fields instead of Super League standards, causing sorrow to everyone. Although it is difficult for our Bursaspor to see this image, we should start building the future not with a heroic approach, but with a realistic approach by seeing this picture. For this, firstly, we need to embark on the road with great Bursa solidarity and the belief in the champion Bursaspor. I thank our governor, our metropolitan mayor, minister and MPs, mayors, our chamber of commerce and industry president, our business world, and all those who have devoted themselves to Bursaspor for leading this great Bursa solidarity.’

‘I invite the business world to the ‘I Am with You’ campaign’

Çelik’s speech continued as follows: ‘Bursaspor fans; I believe that the first step regarding this solidarity has largely been taken. Secondly, we need to establish a trust environment. Bursaspor will be managed not with the understanding of ‘bottomless pit’ but with an understanding of ‘accountability.’ In this context, we will share with you in detail every contribution made to our account named ‘I Am with You,’ opened under the auspices of Bursa Governorship; in other words, we promise a transparent management. Thirdly, shortly after the congress, we will share the contributions of our managers and the friends in the boards who set out with us as a grant to our club with you. In other words, first and foremost, our managers will put their hands under the stone. Yes, we are under a great burden. Everyone living in this city, everyone winning in this city cannot evade the responsibility of the most important brand of our Bursa, our Bursaspor, experiencing this situation. ‘Who has what opportunity, what potential?’ more or less, we all know. We do not find it right to say ‘Let’s delegate this task to 15-20 people.’ Just as we got rid of this burden with a ‘broad participation’ in 2009, today we must get rid of it with an even greater solidarity. I invite our business world once again to be sensitive to our ‘I Am with You’ campaign.’

‘Our time is short, our work is extensive’

Enes Çelik concluded by saying, ‘Our expectation from our managers, businessmen, as well as our fans and the people of Bursa is that they show great interest and support to the new season’s season tickets and jerseys like never before. Dear Bursaspor fans; our job does not end with the congress, it is just beginning. Our time is short, our work is extensive. We will embark on the road not with an understanding of ‘a management approach that talks a lot, gives photos, and shows off,’ but with an understanding of ‘a management approach that solves problems.’ It is time to roll up our sleeves with the understanding of ‘Everything is for Bursaspor.’ Furthermore, we will celebrate the anniversary of our club’s establishment on June 1st. In this context, I wish for the continuation and increase of the flag campaign initiated by our fans who have devoted themselves to the green and white colors. Before I finish my speech, I have a request. We are starting our duty tomorrow. It will be more meaningful for our club if all segments that consider sending flowers as a congratulation purpose donate to our ‘I Am with You’ campaign. Mustafa Bozbey: ‘A historic day for Bursaspor’

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey, who attended Bursaspor’s congress, made a speech that excited the community. Bozbey said, ‘It is not easy, think about where we came from. Suddenly, when you think of 2010, we had managed to become one of the world’s leading teams in a fantastic way. But where we are in 2024 crushes all of us. But dear Bursaspor fans, do not worry. Believe me, Bursaspor will step by step return to its glorious days, almost every year climbing up a league. I wholeheartedly believe in this. Everyone who has lived or was born in Bursaspor must be a Bursaspor supporter. Everyone must contribute to and support Bursaspor. Today is a historic day. We are all here as thinkers of ‘How will Bursaspor get out of this situation?’ That’s why we are here. Today is the day when we will shape the future of Bursaspor to achieve successes every year. Congratulations from the heart to Enes Çelik and his board who have taken on the responsibility. I also thank Sinan Bür and his board. They have motivated 16-17-year-old kids.’

‘Bursaspor is above politics’

Bozbey continued: ‘The management under the chairmanship of Enes Çelik is not enough. We, as local administrators, will stand by them. We have no other choice. They started a Texas flag campaign. We will support them too. As Osmangazi Municipality, we have started the campaign. We will give Bursaspor jerseys to newborn babies. The Bursaspor fandom will grow like an avalanche again.’

Oktay Yılmaz: ‘Unprecedented support for the Super League goal’

Erkan Aydın, Mayor of Osmangazi, who attended the congress, said, ‘Bursaspor’s this General Assembly will be a milestone. The new management is united in success and aiming for the Super League. We will also support Bursaspor. We have no other chance. The Texas flag campaign has started. We will support it. As Osmangazi Municipality, we will give Bursaspor jerseys to newborn babies. Oktay Yılmaz: ‘We have taken action for Bursaspor Sports High School’

Yıldırım Mayor Oktay Yılmaz said: ‘I sincerely congratulate President Enes Çelik. I also see the intelligence that is progressing towards the championship here. We will rise back to the Super League and march towards the championship. We will always be with our Bursaspor today, yesterday, and tomorrow. We have also started to take action for the Bursaspor Sports High School in Vakıfköy. This process has begun. I am giving good news. We will soon bring it to our city.
