Alanya University Department of Architecture brought together important figures at its external stakeholder meeting. Alanya Deputy Mayor Hasan Can Kamburoğlu, President of the Chamber of Architects Gülderen Toprak, industry leaders, Alanya University academicians, and students attended the meeting. During the event, future collaborations and industry expectations for architectural education were discussed. The opening speech of the meeting was given by the Head of the Department of Architecture, Assistant Professor Elif Gizem Yetkin, who explained the purpose of the event as ‘to further strengthen the university-industry collaboration and facilitate the sharing of innovative ideas in the industry.’ Innovative Approaches in Educational Programs. One of the main agenda items of the meeting was the development of educational programs tailored to the needs of the industry. Participants exchanged ideas on new curricula and implementation methods to better prepare graduates for the industry. There was an agreement on updating educational programs to align with industry expectations. Sustainability and Urban Transformation Discussed. Environmental sustainability and urban transformation issues were also addressed at the external stakeholder meeting. Participants who developed joint projects and offered solutions discussed sustainable architectural approaches and urban transformation strategies. The importance of taking significant steps for Alanya’s future urban planning was emphasized. Communication Networks Strengthened. At the end of the meeting, participants decided to expand their communication networks to strengthen future collaborations and keep up with industry developments. Alanya University Rector Prof. Dr. Mesut Güner shared his views on the meeting that enhances university-industry collaboration. Prof. Dr. Güner stated, ‘External stakeholder meetings, which are of great importance for both educational institutions and industry representatives, provide great opportunities for implementing innovative ideas. Discussions on developing educational programs tailored to the needs of the industry were very fruitful. Seeing the exchange of ideas on innovative curricula and implementation methods to better prepare our graduates for the industry makes me very happy. These discussions will enhance our educational quality and make significant contributions to our students. I congratulate our Department of Architecture and all our stakeholders who contributed and wish them continued success. As Alanya University, we will continue to aim for excellence in education and practice by further advancing our collaboration with the industry.’
