The flag, which has become a symbol of Mersin, will be renewed in the Toroslar district on a natural ground of 4,532 square meters. Mayor of Toroslar, Abdurrahman Yıldız, inspected the flag located on natural ground at Kocasay in Çopurlu neighborhood. Expressing that they will renovate the Turkish flag that has lost its magnificence by maintenance, Yıldız stated, ‘A person who loves their homeland should protect it, take care of every square meter, and do their job properly. Like many other areas under the responsibility of our municipality, this place has also been neglected. We will clean this area, which has become a symbol of the city, and carry out the necessary maintenance work.’
Stating that the time for rhetoric in politics is over, Mayor Yıldız said, ‘Now it’s time for service. Those involved in politics in Toroslar should have moved on from rhetoric. These services are being observed by the people. There is a lack of system here. The flag has been neglected. We will maintain the flag. We will carry out the necessary work for it to be permanent and beautiful. We will start maintenance work on the flag, which can be easily seen from the air, land, and sea, as soon as possible.’
‘There will now be a system for everything in Toroslar,’ pointed out Mayor Yıldız, ‘The public will see what is being done. They will know when their garbage is collected, when the asphalt is poured. If we implement this system in our municipality, there will be no need for anyone to intervene to get things done. Our citizens will receive services comfortably. We will also implement our strategic plan in this way.’
