The 5th Ordinary General Assembly of the Eastern Anatolia Mukhtars Federation was held in Mus

MUŞ (IHA) – In Muş, the 5th Ordinary General Assembly of the Eastern Anatolia Mukhtars Federation, affiliated with the Turkey Mukhtars Confederation, was held. The 5th Ordinary General Assembly of the Eastern Anatolia Mukhtars Federation took place in Muş with a large participation. The general assembly, held at the MAUN Islamic Sciences Faculty conference hall, attracted intense interest from the Mukhtars in the region. The congress started with a moment of silence and the national anthem, followed by the election of the board, reading of activity and financial balance reports. In the election, which was held with a single list; Turan Süne, the Mukhtar of Merkez Karaköprü Village, became the President of the Eastern Anatolia Mukhtars Federation by receiving 132 votes. President of the Turkey Mukhtars Confederation, Bekir Aktürk, who attended the program, emphasized the importance of Mukhtars in local administrations, saying, ‘Our responsibility to defend your rights, to be a remedy for your problems, is a bit heavier. Besides that, we also have a Mukhtar seal. We are walking hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder on this path and we will continue to walk. Sometimes it was questioned what Mukhtars are good for. But in the 12-year process, Mukhtars have become the elder brother or sister of the neighborhood. In any disaster, epidemic, or negativity, our Mukhtars immediately step in. Mukhtars serve everyone regardless of their sect, belief, or opinion. Those who do not see this, who do not want to hear, will understand what Mukhtarship is by following the activities carried out by the Turkey Mukhtars Confederation in the past. To those who do not see, who do not want to hear, I want to say in a few words from this podium in Muş, the pearl of Eastern Anatolia, what Mukhtarship is. A Mukhtar is the person who stands by the citizens 24/7, who serves the citizens, and stands by the state. A Mukhtar is the wise person of the neighborhood or village, the leader, who embraces everyone, every color, every belief with his mind, not his emotions.’ The meeting was attended by the Secretary General of the Provincial Special Administration Şehmus Yentür, former President of the Eastern Anatolia Mukhtars Federation Abdullah Butaku, representatives of various civil society organizations, and a large number of Mukhtars.
