Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç received a briefing regarding the works carried out at the construction site of the Kayseri-Ankara High-Speed Train (YHT) Line Project in Düver Neighborhood of Kocasinan district and conducted inspections in the field. Büyükkılıç also inspected the T9 tunnel works in the Molu region and stated, ‘According to the information we have received, around 1200 of our brothers are working in the field. Additionally, there are around 450 technical equipment. Everything is going well and smoothly. I would like to express my gratitude to our President, esteemed ministers, and everyone involved, wishing Kayseri good luck and prosperity.’
Located at the intersection point of Anatolia, Kayseri, which stands out not only in industry and trade but also in education, health, sports, tourism, agriculture, and animal husbandry, continues its works in the High-Speed Train Line Project that will connect Kayseri to Ankara in 2 hours and Istanbul in 5 hours, while Mayor Büyükkılıç closely monitors the project. Continuing his inspections after visiting the High-Speed Train Line construction site in Düver Neighborhood of Kocasinan district, Büyükkılıç also examined the T9 tunnel works in the Molu region and received information from the authorities about the T9 tunnel works and other planned tunnel works.
During the visit of Mayor Büyükkılıç to the High-Speed Train Line construction site in Düver Neighborhood of Kocasinan district and the T9 tunnel construction site in Molu region, AK Party Kayseri Provincial Chairman Fatih Üzüm, AK Party Kayseri Deputies Murat Cahid Cıngı, Bayar Özsoy, Melikgazi Mayor Mustafa Palancıoğlu, Talas Mayor Mustafa Yalçın, Project Manager Kayserşah Erdem, and AYGM Branch Manager, Control Officer Buğrahan Açıkgöz accompanied.
Mayor Büyükkılıç first visited the High-Speed Train construction site in Düver Neighborhood of Kocasinan district, received a briefing from the authorities of the contracting companies regarding the progress of the project, and the general situation. Büyükkılıç, after the briefing, inspected the project area where 2 stations, 8 NATM tunnels, 7 safety tunnels, 5 viaducts, 18 bridges, and 136 overpasses/underpasses are planned along the 142-kilometer high-speed train route.
Following the visit to the High-Speed Train Line construction site in Düver Neighborhood of Kocasinan district, Mayor Büyükkılıç moved to the starting point of the T9 tunnel under construction in the Molu region at the western entrance of Kayseri, where he also received information from the authorities about the T9 tunnel and the planned other tunnel works. Büyükkılıç made statements about the current situation of the Kayseri-Ankara High-Speed Train Line Project, saying, ‘Together with our esteemed provincial chairman, deputies, and mayors, we are visiting our High-Speed Train construction sites. After the visit to the Düver site, we had the opportunity to observe the work related to the T9 tunnel in the Molu region within the borders of Kayseri.’
“Everything is Going Well and Smoothly” Mayor Büyükkılıç noted that the works are progressing smoothly with approximately 1200 personnel, saying, ‘Thank God, everything is going smoothly. The funding is secured, the project is ready, and the tender is completed. The teams are working diligently. According to the information we have received, there are around 1200 of our brothers working in the field. Additionally, there are around 450 technical equipment. Everything is going well and smoothly.’
“Good Luck and Prosperity to Kayseri” Büyükkılıç thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and everyone involved, saying, ‘I express my thanks to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, esteemed ministers, and everyone involved, wishing Kayseri good luck and prosperity.’
“Around 2027-2028, Kayseri Will Meet with High-Speed Train” Mayor Büyükkılıç stated that the goal is to complete the works in the Kayseri-Ankara High-Speed Train Line Project by around 2027-2028, saying, ‘In line with the information we have received, we emphasize once again that Kayseri will meet with the high-speed train around 2027-2028. The high-speed train between Kayseri-Ankara, the Kayseri line up to Yerköy, and then the ongoing high-speed train line to Ankara, is a project carried out using a consortium of three companies: Doğuş, Çelikler, and Özkar. We thank everyone involved. Everyone has contributed at every stage.’
“We Believe Kayseri Deserves This” Büyükkılıç emphasized that Kayseri deserves this service, saying, ‘Ultimately, we believe that Kayseri deserves this. We also believe that Kayseri will make the best use of this. It will take 2 hours to Ankara, then from there to Istanbul. In total, it will be possible to reach Istanbul by high-speed train within 5 hours. Good luck and prosperity.’
The Kayseri-Ankara High-Speed Train Line Project, one of Kayseri’s visionary projects, will connect Kayseri to Ankara via Himmetdede, Yenifakılı, Şefaatli, and to Istanbul via the Ankara-Sivas High-Speed Train line to Ankara, and the Ankara-Eskişehir-Istanbul High-Speed Train line. The project will provide uninterrupted transportation between Kayseri-Ankara, reducing the distance to 2 hours. Within the scope of the project, 2 stations, 8 NATM tunnels, 7 safety tunnels, 6 open-close tunnels, 5 viaducts, 18 bridges, and 136 overpasses/underpasses are planned along the 142-kilometer high-speed train route. Additionally, the project aims to reach an annual capacity of transporting 11 million passengers and 650,000 tons of cargo.
