Ibrahim Burkay, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO), has once again been elected as a Board Member at the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK), which is the gateway of the Turkish economy to the world with its vision of ‘Commercial Diplomacy’. The 37th Ordinary General Assembly of DEIK took place at the Lutfi Kirdar International Convention and Exhibition Center. Nail Olpak was re-elected as the Chairman of the DEIK Board of Directors during the General Assembly, which was chaired by Ibrahim Burkay. Baran Çelik, the President of Uludag Automotive Industry Exporters’ Association (OIB), was also included in the new management alongside Ibrahim Burkay. Ibrahim Burkay, who made evaluations after the General Assembly of DEIK, which plays a leading role in Turkey’s economic goals, stated, ‘Under the leadership of our President Nail Olpak, we are carrying out very important works in line with our country’s development goals based on exports at DEIK. Our business councils within DEIK provide investment opportunities in different geographies of the world to the service of our private sector, contributing to the increase of our companies’ exports. We will continue our efforts to strengthen the role of our companies abroad with our new management and supervisory board members in the upcoming period. We will continue the vision of being the window of our economy to the world at DEIK with the same enthusiasm. Under the leadership of our esteemed President and the coordination of our Ministry of Trade, we will continue to be the greatest supporter of our business world.’ Baran Çelik, the President of OIB, being included in the management of DEIK is important for Bursa’s representation in such organizations, stated Chairman Burkay, ‘Together with my valuable friend Baran Çelik, whom I will serve with on the board, we will continue to work with all our might to contribute to Turkey’s exports. On this occasion, I congratulate our President Nail Olpak, and our Board of Directors and Supervisory Board Members once again.’
