Bozdogan will be the tomato production hub
In a ceremony held in the district of Bozdogan in Aydin, 30 thousand tomato seedlings were distributed to farmers with the aim of expanding tomato production. Projects developed for farmers under the coordination of the Aydin Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry are being implemented to increase tomato production in the region.

At a ceremony held in the Bozdogan district of Aydin to promote tomato production, 30,000 tomato seedlings were distributed to producers.
Projects developed for farmers under the coordination of the Aydin Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry continue to be implemented. In this context, a project aimed at promoting tomato production and activating the use of agricultural land was implemented, and temporary tomato seedlings were distributed to Bozdogan producers. A total of 30,000 tomato seedlings were prepared and delivered to producers at the ceremonies.
In a statement from the Aydin Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry regarding the issue, it was stated that ‘Within the scope of the Activation of Agricultural Land Usage (TAKE) project and the Promotion of Temporary Tomato Production in Areas above 900 Meters project, temporary tomato seedlings were distributed in Altintas Village of Bozdogan district.’
‘We have implemented 6 TAKE projects’
Speaking at the seedling distribution ceremony, Aydin Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, Ibrahim Altintas, stated, ‘Welcome to the seedling distribution ceremony of the ‘Promotion of Temporary Tomato Production in Areas above 900 Meters’ project within the TAKE projects. The Activation of Agricultural Land Usage Project, implemented by our Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, has been ongoing in 81 provinces since 2021. This year, with the aim of strengthening the power of our Aydin as an agricultural city and advancing its agricultural production, we have implemented 6 TAKE projects with a total budget of 5,384,000 TL, 75% of which is covered by our Ministry and 25% by farmer contributions. With these 6 projects, including the distribution of 21,250 fig seedlings, 5,900 chestnut seedlings, 275,000 temporary tomato seedlings, 12,000 pickling pepper seedlings, sunflower seeds for 1,500 decares, and sorghum Sudan grass hybrid seeds for 2,000 decares, we will distribute certified seedlings, saplings, and seeds to a total of 1,060 producers in 11 districts. After distributing 12,000 pickling pepper seedlings in Bozdogan district in recent days, today we will meet 30,000 temporary tomato seedlings with our producers. I wholeheartedly believe that the seedlings we distribute will contribute to the value of our valuable producers in our district and turn into a contribution to our agricultural production. The seedling distribution ceremony was attended by Bozdogan District Governor Ibrahim Gokce, Aydin Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Altintas, Buharkent District Director of Agriculture and Forestry Soner Altun, Chamber of Agriculture President Kemal Ozcan, provincial and district directorate staff, and many producers.
