A modern teachers’ residence is being established in Tavşanlı

A modern teachers’ lodge is being established in the district of Tavşanlı in Kütahya. AK Party Kütahya Deputy Mehmet Demir and AK Party District Chairman Himmet Özer, District National Education Director Raşit Küçükkağnıcı, district special administration director Ali Ertürk, and branch managers Sedat Cumali Koca, Murat Şahin, Mehmet Ali Özdemir, and Teachers’ Lodge Director Yunus Başçı visited the ongoing renovations at Tavşanlı Teachers’ Lodge. After the visit and inspection, AK Party Kütahya Deputy Mehmet Demir provided the following information in his statement: “Despite being an important educational center with a central population of 73,400 and a total population of 106,000, the Tavşanlı district has not had a teachers’ lodge and social facility to meet the social, cultural, educational, and sports needs of teachers until now. In response to this significant need, the old tutoring center building, which was taken over from FETÖ/PDY by Decree Law No. 667 and owned by the General Directorate of National Real Estate, was requested by the Tavşanlı District National Education Directorate to be used as a teachers’ lodge. The transformation-renovation project of this building, which has a total closed area of 3,352 square meters with a basement, ground floor, and four floors, was approved by the Ministry of Construction Real Estate Department. The necessary allocation of 500,000 TL for the start of the project was provided, and the works envisaged in this section were completed as of 18.12.2018. An additional allocation of 5 million TL was transferred by the Ministry in December 2023. On May 21, 2024, the tender was held by the Tavşanlı District Governorship Village Services Union. The tender was awarded to the company that submitted the most advantageous offer economically, with an offer of 4,150,000 TL excluding VAT and 4,980,000 TL including VAT. The signing of the contract is planned for Monday, May 27, 2024, and the completion time for the work is set as 100 calendar days. The new facility will provide services as a 50-bed lodge when operational. Additionally, it will be a modern and comprehensive social facility with a breakfast and dining hall, fitness center, and meeting rooms for teachers and educators. This significant step offers a great opportunity to meet the social and cultural needs of education workers in Tavşanlı.
