President Cavusoglu: ‘The resources of this city will be spent on the people of this city’
President Çavuşoğlu stated that they have fulfilled their promises of reducing water prices, providing bonuses to retirees, supporting new mothers, and introducing the Horoz Kart within the first 50 days of taking office, saying, “The resources of this city will be spent on the people of this city.” April 4, 2024

Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu, who expressed that they have fulfilled their promises of water discount, bonuses for retirees, support for new mothers, and ‘Horoz Kart’ within the first 50 days of taking office, stated ‘This city’s resources will be spent on the people of this city.’ Taking his oath on April 4, 2024, while the Ramadan Bayram holiday was ongoing, Mayor Çavuşoğlu convened the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Council on April 13, 2024. Mayor Çavuşoğlu took the first step for the promised support to eligible retirees and new mothers. The agenda items referred to relevant commissions were approved at the May Council meeting with great speed. Applications for the 5,000 TL bonus for retirees meeting social assistance criteria started on May 20, 2024, while applications for the promised 4,000 TL support for new mothers were opened on Wednesday, May 22. Denizli no longer uses the most expensive water. Mayor Çavuşoğlu also received authorization from the Council to sign a protocol with the relevant bank for the ‘Horoz Kart’ project, which they will implement with the goal of ‘one hand not seeing what the other gives.’ Additionally, the issue of water discount, another promise of Mayor Çavuşoğlu, was discussed and decided at the DESKİ General Assembly. Despite the heavy debt burden of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality and DESKİ, Mayor Çavuşoğlu kept this promise by making up to a 40% reduction in water tariffs. As of June 1, 2024, the first tier (0-12 cubic meters) water fee for ‘residential’ subscribers decreased from 21.797 Turkish Liras to 15.258 Turkish Liras, and the sewage fee decreased from 10.895 Turkish Liras to 7.629 Turkish Liras. Denizli, which was the 4th city among the 30 metropolitan cities in Turkey using the most expensive water, dropped to 16th place with this decision.
A savings of 1,214,962 Turkish Liras per month was achieved by returning vehicles. Just 4 days after taking office, Mayor Çavuşoğlu also returned 45 luxury surplus rental cars of the Metropolitan Municipality. Stating that they started to put an end to waste and extravagance as soon as they took office, Çavuşoğlu announced that a monthly saving of 1,214,962 Turkish Liras was achieved just by returning the vehicles. Furthermore, Mayor Çavuşoğlu put an end to the paid mobile parking application operated by BELTAŞ, an affiliate company of the Metropolitan Municipality in Denizli city center, and instructed a discount of over 66% in tea and coffee prices in social facilities operated by BELTAŞ. The price of tea in these social facilities dropped from 15 Turkish Liras to 5 Turkish Liras, while Turkish coffee decreased from 35 Turkish Liras to 15 Turkish Liras. Right after taking office, Mayor Çavuşoğlu also announced that they would ensure the immediate operation of the Çivril Solar Power Plant to contribute to Denizli and Turkey, stating that they had addressed all past shortcomings and would do whatever it takes for the facility to start operating on June 20.
A Denizli with smiling faces. Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu stated that they will carry the city to a better and more beautiful future together and said they will write the success story together. Çavuşoğlu emphasized that they will stand up for every penny of the people of Denizli, protect the rights of the poor, the needy, and the orphans who have to walk barefoot with slippers on the streets. He said, ‘While continuing our routine municipal services, we are doing our best to quickly implement the projects we promised. There should be no doubt that we will realize all the projects we have announced. We will support people in need with all our means. Denizli Metropolitan Municipality will embrace not a segment or a class but all the people of this city. This city’s resources will be spent on the people of this city. We will together build a Denizli with peace, happiness, and smiling faces.’
