Watchmaker Enver Kavruk, warning citizens by claiming that low-quality and cheap watches known as Chinese goods threaten human health, stated, ‘Instead of being tempted by cheap and low-quality products, it is more important to make conscious shopping decisions to protect health.’ Chinese watches, which are more affordable compared to other watches, attract the preference of many consumers. It is claimed that Chinese watches, known as low-quality and unsafe products, can cause serious health problems ranging from cancer risks in long-term use. Watchmakers warn citizens to avoid low-quality and harmful products, emphasizing the importance of considering not only the price but also factors such as the quality and production process of the product when buying a watch. Watchmaker Enver Kavruk stated that consumers need to make conscious choices to protect their health against such risks, saying, ‘Chinese fake watches, which are made using low-quality materials and production methods that do not comply with health standards, lead consumers to seek more affordable alternatives in the market compared to well-known brands and quality watches, taking into account their purchasing power. However, when it comes to their health, it is necessary to think beyond the price. Although the cost of purchasing a quality and reliable watch may be high, it should be seen as a significant investment in terms of health in the long run. Because the use of cheap and low-quality products can lead to health problems, resulting in more costs and difficulties. Therefore, it is important for consumers to consider not only the price but also factors such as the quality and production process of the product when shopping.’ Kavruk emphasized that citizens who use Chinese products often have red spots on their wrists even when they come for various repair processes, and these products negatively affect the health of citizens by showing different reactions according to the body. He stated, ‘The prices of export Chinese watches attract people’s preference for these products. While such watches can be sold for 250-300 TL, watch prices start from the most affordable ones at 1,500 TL for us. Since Chinese watches are not of very high quality, they often require repairs. We can notice different problems on the arms of some customers who come to us for repairs. The most obvious of these are red spots on their arms. We associate the red spot stains that appear on the arms of our customers with the use of low-quality watches. When we encounter such situations, we immediately inform them and warn them not to use Chinese watches. In short, if our citizens care about their health, they should stay away from such watches. It is more important to make conscious shopping decisions to protect their health instead of being tempted by cheap and low-quality products.’
