The EFES-2024 Exercise, one of the largest planned military exercises of the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK), has begun. Domestic and national Turkish defense industry products used in the exercise are also exhibited at the Defense Industry Products Exhibition. Turkey’s largest joint exercise, EFES-2024, started in the Seferihisar district of Izmir. A total of 11,000 personnel, including TSK elements and over 1,500 foreign personnel from 50 countries, are participating in the exercise. Additionally, the Defense Industry Products Exhibition, where products produced with domestic and national capabilities and included in the TSK inventory by 47 defense industry companies under the coordination of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), is also taking place at the exercise area.
With the participation of 1,567 personnel from 50 countries, the EFES-24 Exercise, which has the widest participation in recent years, features domestic and national products used in the exercise and evaluations on the Defense Industry Products Exhibition. Defense Industry President Haluk Görgün stated: ‘Within the scope of the EFES-2024 Exercise, many of our platforms built with domestic and national capabilities, integrated radar, electro-optical, ammunition, sub-systems, payloads, electronic components, and software developed by our defense industry, as well as many domestic and national products, are included. The Defense Industry Products Exhibition, where products in the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces are exhibited, is crucial in showcasing the point our country has reached in the defense industry to the world. I thank the valuable personnel of the Turkish Armed Forces who have served with great dedication in all planning and execution stages of the exercise and the main contractors, subcontractors, and SMEs who have developed and produced domestic and national systems for the service of our security forces for their outstanding efforts.’
The exercise will allow participant countries to witness the capabilities of Turkish defense industry companies that develop and produce various systems ranging from UAVs to helicopters, warships to ammunition, electronic warfare systems to radar systems, and provide them to the security forces.
