The 2nd Ordinary Congress of the Niğde Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Association (NİGAMUD) was held. In the election with a single candidate, academician and chef Mevlüt Ölmez became the new president of the Niğde Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Association. Speaking at the congress, Chef İsa Serhan Cihangir, the Founding President of the Niğde Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Association, stated that they have been striving to serve the Niğde Cuisine culture specifically and the Turkish Cuisine culture in general since its establishment. Cihangir mentioned that they have grown from a small group to a comprehensive civil society organization that serves in every aspect of Niğde Gastronomy, bringing together professionals such as restaurateurs, chefs, pastry chefs, bakers, greengrocers, butchers, teachers, and academicians. He expressed gratitude to Niğde Governor Cahit Çelik, Niğde Mayor Emrah Özdemir, and Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Uslu for their continuous support both financially and morally. Following the speech, the election with a single candidate took place, and with the unanimous vote of the general assembly participants, the new board of directors under the presidency of Academician Chef Mevlüt Ölmez was elected. After the election, the newly elected president of NİGAMUD, Academician Chef Mevlüt Ölmez, thanked the members and provided information about the roadmap of the new term. Ölmez mentioned that in a short period of 2 years, in cooperation with Niğde Governorship, Niğde Municipality, Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, and the Turkey Chefs Federation, they have organized 2 festivals and participated in more than 30 festivals nationwide to represent Niğde Province and its gastronomy, introducing and promoting the unique flavors of Niğde cuisine. Talking about the projects planned for 2024-2027, Ölmez stated their intention to pioneer initiatives for Niğde gastronomy and work towards obtaining geographical indications for local products specific to Niğde. The new board members of the Niğde Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Association include Mevlüt Ölmez, İsmail Gültekin, Esra Çaçur, Bilal Korkmaz, Kemal Özen, İhsan Aybar, Rıdvan Toprak, Cumali Savaş, Emel Duru, Zümrüt Elbaş, Ayşe Arala, Yasin Aktaş, Osman Doğruer, Şemsinur Özcan, Muhammet Yücel, Ayşe Malyemez.
