Asphalt works continue in the Mediterranean region

Surface coating work has started on Bahçeler and Umut streets in Homurlu Anadolu Neighborhood, located in the central district of Mersin, by the Akdeniz Municipality, with the support of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality teams and heavy machinery assistance. As part of the works, the teams of the Department of Civil Works first carried out regulation and soft ground compaction work on the road, followed by the laying of plentmiks base material, and then the surface coating and compaction process. Approximately 2,000 tons of asphalt were laid in the area, which is 1,400 meters long and has a total area of 11,200 square meters.
Mayor of Akdeniz Municipality, Hoşyar Sarıyıldız, who inspected the work of the teams on-site, emphasized their initiative to solve the district’s road and asphalt deficiencies. Sarıyıldız stated that they are on the field with their team for the renewal work of the road that has caused inconvenience to the residents for months. He mentioned that a surface coating work will be carried out on the road in Homurlu, which is 1,400 meters long and has a total area of 11,200 square meters. Sarıyıldız expressed that the technical work has been completed and a meticulous service will be provided. He also stated that the residents living in the area will be relieved from the inconvenience they have been experiencing for months.
Sarıyıldız also informed that the service will be carried out in collaboration with the teams of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality, mentioning that this service will be provided to every neighborhood in need in the upcoming period. He highlighted the process of revitalizing the city, starting with addressing long-standing issues in all neighborhoods of Akdeniz. The road, which was planned to be completed a month before the local elections but remained unfinished due to various reasons, is now being completed by the municipal teams in cooperation with the Metropolitan teams.
