A ‘Protocol of Cooperation for Education and Improvement Activities’ was signed between Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality and Kayseri Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. With the protocol signed between Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Buyukkilic and Kayseri Chief Public Prosecutor Habib Korkmaz, cooperation will be carried out in the field of education.
In order to expand and diversify the range of services provided to the citizens in Kayseri, Mayor Buyukkilic, under the administration of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, which occasionally signs cooperation protocols with various institutions and organizations, this time signed a ‘Protocol of Cooperation for Education and Improvement Activities’ jointly with Kayseri Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Attending the cooperation protocol ceremony held in the presidential office were Mayor Buyukkilic, Kayseri Chief Public Prosecutor Habib Korkmaz, Prison Prosecutor Ahmet Ihsan Koç, Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Serdar Öztürk, Enterprises and Subsidiaries Department Head Cenani Ayaydın, and KAYMEK Inc. Director Denizhan Burhan Canakpinar.
During his speech at the Cooperation Protocol Ceremony, Mayor Dr. Memduh Buyukkilic stated that KAYMEK within the Metropolitan Municipality provides vocational training courses and is an institution that provides lessons in 141 fields in Kayseri. He emphasized that KAYMEK is referred to as the ‘sixth university’ by the governor, reaching thousands of people, providing them with education, skills, and vocational training. Subsequently, the acquired skills are certified in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education, and efforts are made to help individuals find jobs where needed. He expressed appreciation for the commendable work done in this regard.

Mayor Buyukkilic, mentioning that they collaborate in terms of enabling inmates to utilize their time effectively, acquire a profession, and engage in social projects, stated: “Of course, we are working in collaboration to both enable our brothers in prison to utilize their time effectively, acquire a profession, and provide them with social projects. In this regard, through KAYMEK, we are organizing various activities via the Huzur Cınarı Family Counseling and Guidance Center and the Sports Inc. We are conducting necessary work in those areas. Currently, we are signing this protocol with our esteemed chief public prosecutor. I wish the work done to be auspicious and successful. It is very important for us that people are educated, cultured, skilled, and qualified. While thanking those who contributed, I extend my thanks to our esteemed chief public prosecutor and his valuable team for their trust in us.”Chief Public Prosecutor Habib Korkmaz mentioned that there are 6 penal institutions in Kayseri center and Bünyan district, accommodating approximately 5,500 convicts and detainees. He stated that they organize courses for convicts and detainees to help them acquire or improve their professions. He continued: “In terms of rehabilitating and preparing our convicts and detainees for life after their sentences, we sometimes open courses for them to acquire or improve their professions. Our work in this regard continues to a certain extent in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education and the Provincial Directorate of National Education. However, with the schools going on summer break, in order to prevent disruptions in the education of convicts and ensure the continuity of courses, we have had discussions with our Metropolitan Municipality. Preparations were made through KAYMEK for the continuation of these courses, and with the approval of our Mayor, this matter became official. We have signed our cooperation protocol with our Metropolitan Municipality. I thank our Mayor and his team, and I congratulate my colleagues.”Prosecutor Korkmaz expressed his hope that the services and courses to be provided would be beneficial and bring goodness to the state and the nation.
