Mucur from MHP: ‘We have started preparations for the general elections’

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Samsun Provincial Chairman Burhan Mucur stated, ‘We will hit the field starting from June upon the instructions of our party leader. Local elections are over, and we have started preparations for the general elections.’ Mucur, in a meeting with the press, evaluated the results of the March 31 elections. He emphasized that ‘Elections are a competition, not a war. The race ended on the evening of March 31. On April 1 morning, everyone congratulated each other. We live in Samsun, and our common denominator is Samsun. As the People’s Alliance, we are among the successful provinces in Samsun. According to the figures announced by the Central Headquarters, we reached a rate of 16.82. We won 59 out of 357 council members in Samsun, which corresponds to 17%. We have the majority in the Salıpazarı district council. In the Metropolitan Municipality, we represent the People’s Alliance with 10 council members, 2 mayors, and 12 representatives alongside the AK Party. We support the work of the Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Halit Doğan. We participated in the March 31 elections with the People’s Alliance in 17 districts and the Metropolitan Municipality. Asarcık, Alaçam, and Salıpazarı districts were given to the MHP. We won the elections in two of these districts. Although we were the first party in the general vote in Salıpazarı, we lost the presidency by 76 votes.’ Referring to the words of the Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, ‘First my state, then my nation,’ Burhan Mucur said, ‘We provide great support to the AK Party as organizations. We saw once again the importance given to Samsun by our Chairman at the 14th Grand Congress held on March 17. It is a source of great pride for us that 3 people from Samsun are included in the Central Decision-Making Board and the Central Executive Board.’ Burhan Mucur added, ‘Upon the instructions of our party leader, we will hit the field starting from June. Local elections are over, and we have started preparations for the general elections. Our goal is to make the Nationalist Movement Party the first party in Samsun.
