Veterinary doctors continue to work tirelessly for the health of animals, regardless of the terrain. With the approaching summer months, veterinary doctors start their duty early in the morning to ensure the healthy living of small and large livestock animals that are moved to high-altitude pastures and plateaus.

Veterinary doctors are closely involved in the production and treatment of domesticated animals such as cats, dogs, birds, wild animals like partridges, wild boars, deer, small and large livestock animals like sheep, goats, cattle, and poultry animals like chickens, turkeys, ducks, breeding and treatment of animal breeds, increasing their productivity, maintaining their health, treating diseases, preventing epidemic diseases, exotic animal breeding and treatment such as iguanas, chameleons, chimpanzees, inspection of animal products such as meat, milk, honey for human health compliance, food hygiene and control, contamination in animal products, and environmental pollution.

The teams of Üzümlü District Agriculture and Forestry Directorate make great efforts to reach animals in high mountain villages. Within the framework of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s scheduled vaccination campaign, the teams continue their work in villages connected to the district, overcoming challenging natural conditions to vaccinate small and large livestock animals against epidemic diseases.

District Agriculture and Forestry Manager Dilek Özgül emphasized that veterinary health services are meticulously carried out throughout the district, stating, ‘In addition to preserving animal health and welfare and preventing diseases to protect public health, we continue to implement plans, programs, and projects prepared throughout the province to provide protective services against animal diseases and pests. Our vaccination efforts for small and large livestock animals in the district are carried out uninterruptedly in accordance with the instructions of our Provincial Directorate within the vaccination campaign planned by the Ministry. Our veterinary health teams provide this service, overcoming geographical challenges from time to time. With great dedication, our teams ensure that no animal in the district is left unvaccinated.’
