The countdown has started for the 22nd Alanya International Culture, Arts and Tourism Festival

The press launch of the Alanya International Tourism and Art Festival, organized for the 22nd time this year by the Alanya Municipality, was held. Speaking at the launch, Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik stated, “The aim of the festival is to showcase and introduce the culture of Alanya, Turkish culture, and our cuisine through events to the guests visiting our city and over 50,000 residents living with us from more than 130 countries.” Alanya International Tourism and Art Festival will take place for the 22nd time this year in Alanya. A press launch was held before the festival scheduled between May 24-26. Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik, who made statements about the festival, stated that the purpose of the event is to introduce the culture of Alanya and Turkish culture to Turkey and the world, saying, “This festival was first held in 2001. If we continue well and healthy, we will be fortunate enough to organize these festivals and triathlons for the next 5 years. The aim of the festival is to showcase and introduce the culture of Alanya, Turkish culture, and our cuisine through events to the guests visiting our city and over 50,000 residents living with us from more than 130 countries. Each year, the festival starts with a different theme. This year’s theme has been determined as Alanya and under the title ‘A Breath of Alanya,’ we will try to present the values that breathe life into Alanya to you, to ourselves, and to our guests throughout the festival. When it comes to Alanya, sea, sand, sun, history, culture, cuisine, all come into play. We wanted to combine these and make a beautiful presentation. In order to introduce Alanya to Turkey and the world, we will provide full support for any kind of organization.” ‘We defined the concept of the organization as ‘A Breath of Alanya” Deputy Speaker of the Council and President of the Tourism Commission and Urban Aesthetics Commission Abdurrahman Açıkalın thanked the mayors who organized this festival in the past, saying, “This is a team effort. Every colleague in each department prepared for this festival with great dedication. Carrying the legacy of an organization that has been held since 2001 was a huge burden on our shoulders. We thank our past mayors, all the hardworking colleagues who contributed, and everyone who supported. Very beautiful programs have been organized until now. We defined the concept of the organization as ‘A Breath of Alanya.’ As human beings, our first involuntary action is to breathe and cling to life. This was our starting point. Throughout one breath, we aimed to reveal all the current values of Alanya. This was a challenging task for us. Revealing the past values of Alanya was a difficult process. From this year onwards, we found it appropriate to name our organization as the Alanya International Culture, Art and Tourism Festival. We will make this decision in the upcoming council meeting. From now on, the name of our event will be referred to as the Alanya International Culture, Art and Tourism Festival.” Alanya Municipality Director of Culture and Social Affairs Nimet Hacıkura, Alanya Municipality Director of Environment and Control Sevda Çapa later shared information about the festival program.
