Pre-holiday slaughterhouse inspection
Prior to the upcoming Feast of Sacrifice, the teams of the Erzincan Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry are conducting strict inspections on food-related businesses to ensure that the public has a healthy and peaceful holiday. Throughout Erzincan, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is inspecting food-related businesses to guarantee compliance with regulations. The aim is to prevent any issues that may arise during the holiday period and to protect public health. The inspections cover various aspects such as hygiene, food safety, and compliance with legal standards.

Prior to the upcoming Eid al-Adha, the Erzincan Agriculture and Forestry Provincial Directorate teams are conducting strict inspections of food-related businesses to ensure the public has a healthy and peaceful holiday. Inspections of the slaughterhouses approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry are ongoing throughout Erzincan province.
The Animal Health, Breeding, and Aquatic Products Branch Directorate teams affiliated with the Erzincan Agriculture and Forestry Provincial Directorate continue their inspections in slaughterhouses to ensure that the people of Erzincan have access to healthy and quality meat during the Eid al-Adha.
Erzincan Agriculture and Forestry Provincial Director Murat Şahin, Animal Health, Breeding, and Aquatic Products Branch Director Yunus Koç, and technical teams participated in today’s slaughterhouse inspections. The teams are inspecting the slaughterhouses for compliance with hygiene rules, regulations, and instructions published by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s General Directorate of Food and Control.
During the slaughterhouse inspections, Erzincan Agriculture and Forestry Provincial Director Murat Şahin, whom we interviewed, stated that inspections are carried out in slaughterhouses to ensure the public’s need for healthy and quality meat is met and to secure access to safe food. He mentioned that the teams meticulously examine all the details.
Director Murat Şahin stated, ‘Official veterinarians and responsible veterinarians working in the slaughterhouses conduct inspections together, examining technical and hygienic conditions, arrival documents of animals, operation paddocks, slaughterhouse, offal sections, and cold storage rooms, while also checking the necessary documents to be kept in the facility.’
Director Murat Şahin further mentioned that in addition to inspection work in slaughterhouses, general hygiene, specific hygiene requirements, equipment-related matters, and personnel hygiene issues are informed to slaughterhouse managers. He emphasized that especially before Eid al-Adha, reminders about the precautions that need to be taken in food establishments are given to the staff.
Director Şahin informed that slaughterhouse inspections will continue in accordance with the Veterinary Services, Plant Health, Food, and Feed Law.
