A ceremony was held in Manisa to commemorate the 177th anniversary of the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre. Manisa Cadastre Provincial Director Mustafa Aktürk, Şehzadeler Land Registry Director Ramazan Sağlam, Yunusemre Land Registry Director Hakan Öztürk, and deputy directors of cadastre and land registry laid a wreath at the Atatürk Monument on the occasion of the establishment anniversary of the institution. A minute of silence was observed and the National Anthem was sung at the ceremony attended by employees. Mustafa Aktürk, the Cadastre Provincial Director, emphasized in his speech at the ceremony that the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre has been the guarantee of property rights for nearly two centuries. Aktürk stated, ‘Our General Directorate, with 23 Land Registry and Cadastre Regional Directorates, 973 Land Registry Offices, and 81 Cadastre Offices, is a well-established institution that serves approximately 15 million transactions annually in all provinces and districts of our country, involving 25-30 million people directly or indirectly, defining the face of the state that looks after its citizens on the occasion of the 177th establishment anniversary.’ Aktürk provided information about the vision and technological developments of the institution in his speech. He said, ‘With our vision of being the leading institution in safeguarding, updating, determining and managing policies for property ownership information under state guarantee, we have been providing the highest quality service to you citizens for a full 177 years.’ Aktürk mentioned that the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre continuously improves its infrastructure to provide the best service to citizens through projects such as Web Land Registry, Land Exchange, E-Seizure, E-annotation, Parcel Inquiry, E-Appointment, Turkey Land Registry, 3D Cadastre, MEGSIS, Out-of-Authority Land Registry Transaction, and added that they were honored with the ‘Inspiring Public Administration Project Award’ for the Web Land Registry System Project. Aktürk also stated in his speech that the institution’s employees make intensive efforts for citizens and themselves to complete transactions in the shortest time possible, saying, ‘As a reflection of this intensity, we perform an average of one transaction per second. As a result of these transactions, we are the institution that earns the most revenue in Turkey. Thanks to our colleagues who work selflessly, significant projects have been implemented.’ Aktürk noted that with the Land Application Inquiry, application procedures can be tracked online without going to the Land Registry Office, and with the Secure Account project, secure money transfers can be made in buying and selling transactions. He explained that with the Virtual Museum project, centuries-old archives are shared with the public, and with the Production of 3D City Models, detailed information is provided for real estate buying and selling processes. Aktürk concluded his speech by congratulating the 177th anniversary of the Land Registry and Cadastre Organization and thanking all employees and citizens who contribute to the institution’s development.
