Thousands of people watched Aleyna Tilki in Bilecik

Bilecik came together as one with a torchlight procession and a concert by Aleyna Tilki organized by the Municipality of Bilecik in commemoration of May 19th, Atatürk Memorial Day and Youth and Sports Day.

The celebrations of May 19th, Atatürk Memorial Day and Youth and Sports Day, with talks, torchlight procession, and concerts, concluded with a concert by Aleyna Tilki. The torchlight procession, where thousands of people participated with Turkish flags in hand, witnessed a festive atmosphere, while the concert held on the day considered as the youth’s holiday crowned the festive spirit.

“Today is the day our torches are lit. Today is Atatürk’s birthday.”

Mayor Melek Mızrak Subaşı, who attended the concert, shared in the joy of the youth’s holiday. Mayor Subaşı, who congratulated the youth on May 19th, Atatürk Memorial Day and Youth and Sports Day, expressed her happiness for bringing Aleyna Tilki together with the youth. Subaşı stated, “Today is the day our torches are lit. Today is the day Atatürk was born.” Using the phrase ‘Today is the day our torches are lit. The day that Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was born. Today is May 19th. He gifted this beautiful day, this special day, the day he set foot in Samsun, to you, the youth. How fortunate we are. We have such a history. We have such a Great Leader. I hope that we, as the youth, will carry this torch forward without ever letting it extinguish until the future.”

At the end of the speeches, Mayor Subaşı presented flowers to Aleyna Tilki, while Member of Parliament Yaşar Tüzün presented a portrait of Atatürk reflected on Bilecik ceramics.

generated a great deal of appreciation from the youth towards Mayor Melek Mızrak Subaşı, who took souvenir photos with the youth at the concert. Thanking Mayor Subaşı for bringing Aleyna Tilki to them, the youth expressed that they had a great time.

The torchlight procession and the concert were attended by Ali Özdemir, the Provincial Chairman of the Republican People’s Party, deputy mayors, members of the municipal council and the provincial general assembly, village headmen, and many residents of Bilecik.
