Bursa Automobile Sports Club (BOSSEK), the oldest automobile sports club in Turkey, hosted the 48th edition of the Green Bursa Rally this year, which was full of excitement. Sponsored by Atış Yapı, with the contributions of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, Aloft Hotel Bursa, Özhan Supermarkets Chain, İnallar, Mavi Yeşil, Yılkar, and Digiwuu, the Green Bursa Rally, the 4th race of the Petrol Ofisi Maxima 2024 Turkey Rally Championship, was successfully completed under the leadership of Ali Türkkan and co-pilot Oytun Albayrak from Castrol Ford Team Turkey. Türkkan-Albayrak team also secured the first place in class 3, while the overall second place and the first place in class 2 were won by Ümit Can Özdemir-Kutay Ertuğrul from GP Garage My Team. The third place in the challenging rally was claimed by Kerem Kazaz-Corentin Slyverstre from Parkur Racing team, with 18-year-old Kazaz also winning the Youth category. Castrol Ford Team Turkey became the Brands champion of the rally, while the Teams championship was achieved by GP Garage My Team. Fatih Selim Göçer-Mehmet Köleoğlu won in Class 4 and Two-Wheel Drive, Okan Öztürk-Hakan Uçucu from GP Garage My Team took first place in Class N, Metehan Üstükarcı-Hüseyin Çetin from Atış Motorsport claimed victory in Class 5, Uğur Soylu from GP Garage My Team became the Master Pilots champion, Burcu Çetinkaya won in the Women Pilots category, and Italian Fabrizia Pons was the champion in the Women co-pilots category. The Historic class, open to classic rally cars over 35 years old, was won by Semih Geylan-Ünsal Deniz driving a Fiat 131. In the TOSFED Rally Cup category held in memory of Celal Gülerhan, Taner Oruç-Onur Sırımoğlu secured the top spot and also ranked first in Category 2. Alp Atak-Alperen Tetik from GMG Racing came second, Osman Ceylan-Batuhan Doğan from the same team finished third in Category 3. Tolga Öztürk-Hasan Güler from GP Garage My Team claimed victory in Category 4, and Faruk Sayın-Cansu Açar won in Category 1, with Açar also becoming the champion in the Women co-pilots category. The Women Pilots championship of the TOSFED Rally Cup was won by Elif Gizem Filiz racing with Furkan Acar. The Races attracted great interest as pilots faced challenging moments on the demanding track, creating excitement over the course of 2 days. The 4th race of the Oyman Atabay season, the Green Bursa Rally, captivated audiences once again this year. Taking advantage of the beautiful weather, both locals from Bursa and visitors from neighboring cities showed great interest in the rally, where teams competed over 2 days. The 48th Green Bursa Rally, which was full of excitement, saw the participation of 72 cars, 144 athletes, and a workforce of 300 people. The 4th rally of the Oyman Atabay season started on May 17th at 20:00 with the start ceremony held at Downtown Shopping and Living Center. Throughout the Green Bursa Rally, teams fiercely competed in the stages in the Orhaneli-Keles region over two days. The first day of the rally on May 18th started at 09:30 from the eastern parking lot of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Stadium (Yüzüncü Yıl Atatürk Stadium) after passing through the 13.35 km long Remed Assistance (Harmanalan-Delice) stage and the 25.05 km long Petrol Ofisi Maxima (Kozbudaklar – Göynükbelen – Karandere) stage. The rally concluded on May 19th with the completion of the 10.10 km long Bursa Metropolitan Municipality (Hüseyinalan) and the 10.30 km long Downtown (Soğukpınar) stages, marking the end of the season’s final asphalt rally. Following the challenging competition, an award ceremony was held at Aloft Bursa Hotel. Additionally, BOSSEK, within the framework of the Green Bursa Rally, carried out a significant initiative to draw attention to environmental pollution worldwide and the carbon footprint generated by fossil-fueled vehicles participating in the race. BOSSEK, in the context of the organization, will determine the carbon footprint according to the international standards of ISO 14064 in a report, and will create a memorial forest in an area designated by Bursa Forestry Regional Directorate.
