Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality is organizing a panel titled ‘Turkish Cuisine with Centuries-Old Recipes’ at the Recep Tayyip Erdogan People’s Garden on Tuesday, May 21st, in celebration of the Turkish Cuisine Week from May 21st to 27th. From pastirma to sucuk, from mantı to yağlama, with a variety of flavors, Kayseri is continuing to make significant efforts to introduce Kayseri in the field of gastronomy to the world under the initiatives and instructions of Mayor Dr. Memduh Buyukkilic. In this context, the rich Turkish Cuisine, which is a culmination and heritage of thousands of years of culture, tradition, social heritage, and profound experience, will share its unique adventure and flavors with the world between May 21st and 27th, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Kayseri Governorship, and Metropolitan Municipality are organizing the ‘Turkish Cuisine with Centuries-Old Recipes’ panel for this special week. The aim of the Turkish Cuisine Week, celebrated annually to raise awareness, brand, and emphasize the healthy, traditional, and waste-free characteristics of Turkish cuisine domestically and internationally, to ensure its recognition and sustainability, will be celebrated this year from May 21st to 27th, 2024. In the third edition of the Turkish Cuisine Week this year, the panel to be held at the Recep Tayyip Erdogan People’s Garden, one of Turkey’s largest national gardens, which was introduced and put into service through the Gastronomy Days event, is preparing to host valuable speakers. Moderated by Dr. Mustafa Ulker, a faculty member of the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department at Erciyes University Tourism Faculty, the panel on ‘Modern Approaches in Turkish Cuisine’ will feature expert speakers from the industry. The main theme of the event week, which focuses on ‘Sustainable, Waste-Free Turkish Cuisine’, will have the domestic activity concept of ‘Celebration of Turkish Cuisine with Geographical Indicated Products of 81 Provinces’ and the international activity concept of ‘Encounter of History, Culture, and Nature: Turkaegean Flavors’. The Turkish Cuisine Week aims to be celebrated with the contribution of all stakeholders through gastronomy-themed events organized by governorships and local governments.
