Famous singer Haluk Levent, who participated in the celebrations of May 19th Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day organized by Osmangazi Municipality, drew attention to the genocide in Palestine. Upon the request of the famous singer, tens of thousands of people stood in a minute of silence for all those who lost their lives, especially children, in Israel’s attacks on Gaza during the celebrations.
At the May 19th Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day events organized by Osmangazi Municipality, children and young people under the oppression of Israel in Palestine were not forgotten. As part of the May 19th Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day celebrations, under the leadership of famous singer Haluk Levent, who will perform a concert in Osmangazi Square, tens of thousands of people from Osmangazi stood in a minute of silence, not remaining silent about the oppression in Palestine.
“Our youth will put an end to the genocide in Palestine” Before the concert, Haluk Levent, who took the stage with Osmangazi Mayor Erkan Aydın, stated in his speech, “We are going through very sensitive days. We see unwanted events happening all over the world. I believe that the youth of Atatürk, the young people who follow the path he showed, will stand against the oppression in the world. I know that as the beautiful youth of the Republic of Turkey, you will stand against the genocides happening around us without ignoring anything. Today, we are celebrating May 19th Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day throughout the country with various activities. However, there are tens of thousands of families right next to us who cannot experience this joy. As the youth of Atatürk, I ask you to stand in a minute of silence today to draw attention to the genocide in Palestine.”
Upon the request of Haluk Levent, tens of thousands of people filling the concert area stood in a minute of silence for Gaza. This sensitive gesture of Haluk Levent was applauded by the people of Osmangazi for a long time.
