Supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, an event was organized jointly by the Erzurum Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate, Palandöken District Governorate, Palandöken Youth Center, and Palandöken District National Education Directorate, where 1923 seedlings met the ground in the 100th year of our Republic in 2023. As part of the ‘Let Values Bloom in Youth Seeds at the Center’ Project, 1923 seedlings were planted in the 100th year of the Republic, and during the Youth Week, the seedlings were put into the ground and watered. The tree planting ceremony organized by the Erzurum Youth Center Campus of the Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate was attended by the Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Zafer Aynalı, Youth and Sports Provincial Director Levent Çakmur, directors of public institutions, and organizations, GSIM Service, District, and Branch Managers, youth leaders, volunteer youths, and students from selected pilot schools within the project. The ‘Let Values Bloom in Youth Seeds at the Center’ project, coordinated by Palandöken Youth Center Youth Leader Bahtiyar Akan, has been successfully running for five months. Coordinator of the project, Bahtiyar Akan, stated, ‘Our project consists of two parts. Firstly, in the 100th year of our Republic, we brought together 1923 seedlings with the ground. We provided values education to 25 students selected from Borsa Istanbul, Maksut Efendi Middle School, Aşık Yaşar Reyhani Middle School, and Şehit Yunus Çelebi Middle School. We also planted seedlings with them within the project supported by our Ministry. With the participation of the protocol, we carried out tree planting at the Erzurum Youth Center and High Altitude Camp Center Campus on the occasion of Youth Week.’ While planting trees together with other guests, Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Zafer Aynalı and Youth and Sports Provincial Director Levent Çakmur expressed their happiness to participate in such a meaningful event during Youth Week. Çakmur said, ‘It is especially meaningful for us to bring the seedlings into the ground on the occasion of May 19, Atatürk Memorial, Youth and Sports Day, which marks the day when the Founder of the Republic of Turkey, the Commander-in-Chief of the War of Independence, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, landed in Samsun and ignited the flame of liberation. I thank everyone who participated, and I congratulate the Project Coordinator Bahtiyar Akan and the students from the pilot schools.’
