ILETFEST2 will take place with the theme ‘Communication and Sustainability: Shedding Light on the Future’

Istanbul Gelişim University Faculty of Applied Sciences, which houses three communication departments, namely Public Relations and Advertising, Television Journalism and Programming, New Media and Communication Departments, will organize the ‘Applied Communication Festival-2’ on May 21-24, 2024. The theme of the Applied Communication Festival (ILETFEST2) for the year 2024 has been determined as ‘Communication and Sustainability: Shedding Light on the Future.’ Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) Faculty of Applied Sciences (FAS) is organizing the Applied Communication Festival, aiming to bring together students, academicians, and expert guests in the field with new developments in various areas of communication. This year will mark the second edition of the festival, featuring events such as panels, workshops, discussions, exhibitions, film screenings in the main branches of communication such as cinema, journalism, advertising, public relations, new media. With its ‘Applied’ content, the festival will also pioneer in providing practical skills to students through workshop sessions alongside theoretical knowledge. The theme of ILETFEST2 is ‘Communication and Sustainability.’ Following the success of the first edition, which received great interest and was found highly beneficial for students in terms of career development, the second edition of the ‘Applied Communication Festival’ is being held. This year, under the theme ‘Communication and Sustainability,’ ILETFEST2 aims to educate students on the profession of communication, evolving technology and content issues, and the interaction with sustainability communication. In order to enable students to grasp the integration of communication profession with sustainability understanding to leave a better world for the future, ILETFEST2 will host events aligned with the ‘Sustainable Development Goals.’ University-industry collaborations will be established at ILETFEST2, bringing together professionals, students, and academicians in the communication field to discuss and share current topics in communication, as well as paving the way for university-industry collaborations by connecting students aspiring for careers in communication with professionals.
