The 10th International Youth Festival organized in Alanya on the occasion of May 19th Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day was held with the participation of 1200 dancers from 6 countries. With the support of Alanya Municipality, the International Youth Festival, where traditional dances of different countries were showcased, attracted great interest from the citizens. A total of 1200 dancers from 29 groups from Georgia, Kazakhstan, Romania, Bulgaria, Dagestan Republic, and Ukraine took the stage at the festival, presenting a magnificent show. Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik, his wife Canan Özçelik, CHP District Chairman Bülent Kandemir, Municipality Council Members, and citizens attended the festival. ‘Events will continue to increase’ Gathering in front of the Atatürk Monument at the Government Square, the dancers paraded in a procession to the Waterfall Square at the Port with flags and anthems. Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik, who made the opening speech of the festival here, said, ‘I am very happy to organize such an event with the young people in Alanya in these days when the world needs peace and tranquility the most. I am honored to host you young people in Alanya. We want to continue these events by increasing them in the coming years. It makes me happy to see our children and fellow citizens laugh and have fun through this. I thank my colleagues for their efforts.’ After Mayor Özçelik’s speech, the dancers took the stage. The groups showcased their choreographies prepared with dances and music specific to their countries. Mayor Özçelik watched the performances with his wife Canan Özçelik. The festival, which received great acclaim and featured colorful images, lasted until late hours.
