The ‘Youth Festival’ organized by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality within the scope of the May 19th Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day started with full of activities at Hüdavendigar Kent Park. In the festival where young people participated in colorful, sportive, and interactive activities throughout the day, the excitement peaked with the Hande Yener concert.

The May 19th Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day is celebrated in a manner befitting the spirit of national holidays with special events organized by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality. The ‘Youth Festival’, organized under the slogan ‘Smiling in the light of the youth’, progresses full of programs at various points in the city after the parade. While young people fiercely competed in the paintball tournament in Balat Forest on one hand, they also had fun moments at the mountain sled event in Atatürk Kent Forest on the other. Hundreds of people from 7 to 70 years old who gathered at the main venue of the festival, Hüdavendigar Kent Park, had an unforgettable day by participating in colorful, sportive, and interactive activities. Young people who participated in activity areas such as the Atatürk and May 19th exhibition, ‘Smile Bursa’ photo area, painting contest, graffiti area, 360-degree photo area, idea wall, enjoyed pleasant moments in game areas such as retro, live table football, sumo wrestling, jump race, slot car racing, mini table tennis, e-sports, and Redbull F1 simulation. Young people who indulged in music with rap performance by Emir Kaan on the main stage, as well as concerts by bands such as Santral, Timeline, Grup 224, Uzun Lafın Kısası, and Mest, also enjoyed the Rednblack concert and Barış Bakır stand-up shows at the ‘Smiling Stage’. Bursalılar showcased their talents in workshops such as LED keychain, VR glasses, bracelet, woodwork, caricature, model making, 3D printer experience, telescope observation, 3D pen, and giant Jenga, and also fiercely competed in tennis, mini football, climbing, basketball, and volleyball tournaments.

‘Youth, this holiday is yours’
Bursa Metropolitan Mayor Mustafa Bozbey, accompanied by his wife Seden Bozbey, toured the activity areas at Hüdavendigar Kent Park and met with the youth. Mayor Mustafa Bozbey, who shared the enthusiasm of the May 19th Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day with the people of Bursa, visited the stands and chatted with the citizens. Young people who took souvenir photos with Mayor Bozbey thanked him for the organized events. Mayor Bozbey, who played table football with the youth, also took charge of the jewelry stand and made sales. Addressing the youth before the Hande Yener concert, Mayor Bozbey expressed his extreme happiness and pride to be with the youth, addressing the young people filling the area by saying ‘you are magnificent’. Mayor Bozbey, who congratulated the people of Bursa on the May 19th Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, stated that they are together today thanks to the journey taken 105 years ago to liberate from enemy occupation and gain independence. Remembering with love, respect, and gratitude all comrades-in-arms, veterans, and martyrs, especially the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Mayor Bozbey emphasized that ‘National holidays are an opportunity to remind our common consciousness and strengthen the spirit of unity. You must give today its due. You should celebrate with enthusiasm. We, as Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, have prepared a series of events under the name of ‘Youth Festival’. They all were for you. They were all for celebrating this holiday with enthusiasm. I thank those who supported this organization. Youth, this holiday is yours. It is your right to celebrate this holiday with joy and enthusiasm. As our great leader Atatürk said, ‘O rising new generation. You are the future. We established the Republic, but you will exalt and sustain it.’ Each holiday will be more beautiful and more enthusiastic than the previous one. I promise the youth. Because there is no one like you. Now it’s time to have fun.’

After the speech, Mayor Mustafa Bozbey and his wife Seden Bozbey greeted the young people filling the area with Turkish flags.

Excitement with Hande Yener
At the end of the day, the famous artist Hande Yener took the stage and gave an unforgettable concert to the people of Bursa. Singing beloved songs for the youth, Hande Yener mesmerized the audience with her energy. Providing enjoyable moments with her stage performance and dances, Yener gave the young people a night full of excitement. Addressing the young people filling the area by saying ‘you are magnificent’, Hande Yener said, ‘We celebrate May 19th. Happy May 19th Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day. I am honored and proud to be with you. I thank our Mayor very much. He is someone who always supports the youth, art, and artists. We are very thankful for organizing this magnificent event and bringing us together with you.’
